Gentleman, New to this thread. Am the proud owner of Espada SIII #9332 for the last 13 years. Formerly owned by Nicholas Cage, the actor. Wondering if anyone has any prior history on this car? Thanks, Jude Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful example! The interior seems as new! Congratulations and please post some more pictures. All the best.
I remember that car. It circled the drain on eBay numerous times, but in the end what a deal. Hopefully the Leaving LasVegas part is gone.
What a nutty and most probably illegal to operate modification to an Espada. Lots of legroom for one person though. Hopefully it was all reversible and came with the missing seat and parts?
Jude, here are factory infos : Telaio #9332 Motore #41263 Bertone body carrozzeria #991 Colore : Bleu notte / Senape Consegna : 12/07/1974 Cliente : Lamborghini Inc – USA
Olivier, Thank you very much for the details! Was at the Factory in September and they let me look at the original build sheet at Polo Storico, which confirmed the colors. Wondering if you know who took delivery of the car in the US, and whom the prior owners were from 1974 - 2003? This is a big gap in the car's history. In my ownership, I commissioned a complete rebuild of the engine, brakes, suspension, replaced the exhaust and muffler, fuel lines, and reupholstered the entire interior and replaced the carpet. Paint is in excellent condition, but it was repainted at some point. The paint has a slightly purplish hue when the light hits it at a certain angle--is this consistent with Bleu Notte? Sincerely, Jude
Maybe doesn't bother some people as much as it does me, but OUCH! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Lamborghini-Espada/272739861505?hash=item3f80900401:g:l0IAAOSwTf9ZU~Qm&vxp=mtr Image Unavailable, Please Login
They're off by a decimal place ... This car has been hanging around in PA forever and several months ago Gullwing "rescued it". I think it bothers everyone.
Wouldn't even bother me much if they'd left the body & interior bone stock, stuck that V8 in there, and just marketed it as "what a Mustang COULD have been." Would still be a fun driver, at the right price. As is? I pray to see one of those posts where it has burned down while refueling.
A few years ago Gullwing had a green S1 with a corvette motor in it and that car got cleaned up a bit and is being driven as is now. That one wasn't so bad. This one sat for a very long time. Lord knows if the original engine & tranny can be found. If they become million dollars cars then maybe ... but only maybe ... LOL
I am in need of some body work for my Espada before I paint it. Does anyone have a good referral in Los Angeles? Thanks, Mike
I didn't I probably should of, wasn't thinking.. I ended up taking to a shop out in Hesperia CA which was highly recommended by an F-Chatter Maserati person. My car needed a lot more work than I originally thought. Oh well, thats what happens when you remove all the paint.
I doubt Bob Huber was going to to make the unavoidable unavoidable but he really knows his way around Espadas. All vintage Lamborghinis really and he's a superb metal fabricator and has a background as an aircraft mechanic for the big stuff.
This S3 is absolutely stable at any speed (remember that I inspected 26 over last 2 years) I'm glad that the suspension and links to road are so well fitted on this car... and it is still confortable ! We know the 4.0V12 engine, and following a top service, it revs correctly up to 7.000rpm... but I would like to have more song from exhausts... About visibility, rear angle is a little better than in my favourite model Jarama GTS... I see only one default which is the longer wheelbase compared again to Jarama which is sharper , more reactive... Espada is really a GT, for long distance... with the whole family on board !
