    The automatic is actually really nice to drive, it’s obviously a much different driving experience than a stick. If you wanted a daily driver then the auto is the way to go. I thought the Espada would be great for kids but the backseats are not made for modern car seats and the seat belts are useless holding the car seats in place. Definitely not the safest place for a baby or small child.

    Over a year ago while I lay in handicapped equipped hotel room recovering from a badly broken ankle for 3 months, I could not function in my home, an annual rat rod show that's been going on for many years showed up near my hotel. I couldn't go to the show but I got see a number of cars and speak with the owners in the parking lot of my hotel. It's not my cup of tea but these people put a lot of energy and creativity into these cars.

    Indeed. its all subjective. To a rat rod fan, they may be willing to pay that price. To me, no. End of the day its worth what ever someone is prepared to pay.

    Good evening, #9804 joined my car calloection a bit more than a year ago.
    After a full engine rebuilt, some serious drivetrain work, new shocks, tires etc, I now have more or less run in the engine and can't wait to pass the 6000 rpm...

    The car's original black interior is nearly perfect while it has lost its original metallic grey at some point, being now dark blue, which suits it quite well nonetheless.
    Original Pioneer radio is fortunately a perfect match to the dashboard as well.
    Interestingly, the car was as it seems on display at the 76 Paris motorshow alongside a few other cars exhibited by Thépenier at the time.

    I am now thinking about putting european spec bumpers in place but not sure yet as it seems that the car, while being originally french, was delivered with U.S specs...

    I don't know at this point how feasible it is to convert the bumpers? Is there any story behind the ordering of a USA spec car that was delivered in France.     My opinion is to at least explore what it would take to convert the bumpers. The bumpers are there only because the US required them. Not that they were designed with them and was the final look of the car.

    I guess I look at bumpers, is that they all are "after-thoughts" if you think about it.

    Went to visit one of my cars recently and came across this beautiful thing. That color! I really can not tell the reason it was there, that's up to the owner if he's on here. But you don't hear it happening to our cars. I least I haven't. Runs and sounds great.

    The interesting thing on this car is that electric power steering has been install. Talking to the tech who was out on a test run, says that PS was installed properly, works and feels great.

  15. That is a beautiful car & color. I had a 67 Mustang that was in a similar color, it was called clear water aqua blue.

    Does anyone know the history of 9424, I believe may have been registered in the UK as MP27, now in Queensland Australia. Rosso with Black. My father believed it to be series 2.5 with series three wheels. I can add to some history of it's ownership and location.

    Ah thanks Raymond, very much, the search continues, 9424 wasn't my fathers car then, he imported it from the UK in about 75 to Bougainville, Papua New Guinea then sold to someone in Port Moresby PNG who was going to bring it to Queensland Australia.

    I'm just blown away that an Espada was imported to Papua New Guinea! That doesn't seem like a very suitable environment for such a car?

    It was quite a mission at the time from memory to get it there. Would be nice to know where it is now, unfortunately the only information was a engine manual with an incorrect engine number. Definitely RHD 1973 S3 red car with black interior.
