Just be carefull about paint chips viewed on your computer. There is a lot of room for color error. As long as it doesn't look like something too modern I'm not sure anyone will object.
Mostly it has to look good for the shape of the car and the color of your interior.

I've never heard an explanation that makes sense of why some cars look so much better that others in certain colors. There must be one though right?

Hey Bob Hope all is well>

I am thinking of a burgundy to bring out the stainless bumpers and surrounds and it will work with a brown leather and golish carpets both original. If I could find a good lambo burgudy with brown tones i would have the guy mix a bit and look at the REAL thing. But I have start somewhere so seeing some electronic image is a start . Any ideas where i can look this up?

Also the cadillac CTS this year has a "Black Cherry" that looks Period italian for some reason..

    Ciao Philippe!

My Espada is Now Test started. The eingine runs for 20 minutes, wery good with the new Electronic Ignition, but when we started it again it would not start. The Ignition was the reason.

We have sent it down to Lambowerkstatt,so they have given it to the manufacturer including the Distributor. They have sold 150+ units and none has been faulty they claim.
I will get it back soon, then will I know why it only worked for 20 minutes.I wont go back to the old system.

I also have R12 to the AC system. All is OK otherwise.

    Car is Fantastic.Regards/Patrik

Also fixed a lot of things.Saw it in Knutstorp this Summer, its with a New owner.

Norwegian car was restored at the factory not so long ago.
I saw it in 1992 first time.

This ,maybe a little better is mostly what you get on the Internet, shopping for a Cheap Espada.I get called up.People wondering if the Price on my Car is a Joke??!!

They say,"I can get a Nice Espada for 20.000 Euros",why is you car so expensive?
I try to explain whats been done on it.Even though it it was realy good, probably the best
one at least for sale at the time,i had to do the job on the engine.I wanted it to work 100%

Maybe many here and on VLG works on their Car themselfs,or maybe people are so rich they doesent care.I dont know. But still maintaining these cars are hard work, and realy a contributon to automotive history. Many Espadas just stands because, they cant find the parts for them,or cant afford to fix them.I know of a few..

Who want to restore a Espada, when you don get your money back? Then you must keep it.
Or see these cars with all kinds of issues, working "ok"like the blue one fr.USA.
Its a more advanced car then the Miure, but at the Fraction of the S or SV.
How many drivable Espadas vill be left in a few years?Factory is not so helpfull./Patrik

Thats wery good! Its the only way that they will survive finally. You cant look at it in a
profit,or financial way or alike. But that was not what i meant with the comment. Its up to the labour of Love from the owners, and its not about money in that case.
But still,if you have to sell, dont expect any top prices,at least not now.
You wont get back your investment. Not by far.You fix up these cars for other reaons, because you enjoy them and Love them.

But still there are some Cars standing because the owner has not the funds or interest to get the car ready.God only knows how many cars that are half restored, and then just standing in parts./Patrik

So true. I drove my Espada to a car event last Saturday. After hearing about all the maintenance work I'd just completed, the owner of the muscle car parked next to me asked, "Why would you spend that much time and money on one of THESE?". I was about to respond when a bystander answered for me. It seems this gentleman had worked for local exotic car broker Harry Woodnorth back in the '70's and spent two days driving an Espada back to Chicago from it's previous home. He said it is still one of his best driving memories and said he loved the Espada. He went on and on about the power and the sound and the comfort. I don't think the muscle car guy understood any of it. However, if you DO understand, then it makes perfect sense to devote the time and money.

    I totally agree!!!

I just come back from a 100km trip around my house in my Islero: wonderful... Powerful, yet confortable, that can also be applied to the Islero... Of course it costs a lot of time and money to maintain, but the reward is in comparison.

I used to own several other classics including a 1969 Porsche 911 and I've been driving extensively a 1968 Maserati Ghibli. But no other car has given me as much pleasure as the Lambo...

Mine are old and worn looking. They also don't seal properly. Anyone who pays that kind of money has either already finished a 100 point restoration and miraculously still has SOME money left OR ... hasn't even begun to realize how much they're going to be spending.

Get the hard stuff done and worry about things like this last.

I bought a couple of very functional caps for about $12 each at the auto store. They work great and I don't have to fuss with those silly locks. Where are you realistically going to take this car that they're going to steal your gas? You're probably watching the whole time anyway.

Thanks. I'm getting used to that answer. I'm beggining to think that this part was the first thing tossed in the trash by Espada owners. Sort of like a pop-top on a beer can.

But that's OK I'll just pick one up at the next concours ... ;>))

The muscle cars currently have an enormous advantage in resale value and you can get almost everything for them very easily. Lord knows it's a lot cheaper. I have to admit I'm envious.

Before the prices went atmospheric I understood it because it was probably a memory for them and the prices weren't that crazy. But now? You pay 100 to 150K and you've got the worlds best painted GTO? It's still a high production, low sophistication inexpensive looking car that handles like sh*t and feels cheap. It does go quickly in a straight line.

The power windows and AC do work a lot better than on an Espada. ;>))

But from a monetary standpoint the guy was deadon.

Wow that is a real early S1 and looks to be in very nice shape too!

It's interesting how different the hatch window amf cargo areas are.
