You could call Gary Bobileff and ask him. He re-did the interior in #7293 the glass roofed Espada. It was in a similar condition to this one. But you might find out that there's not as much you can save as you think. Is the foam still nice and pliable? When re-covering those seats if you go for a partial job remember that you have to get those perforations put in as well. Most people just leave them out. I've still got one rear seat cushion to fix and last summer I worked with a real nice guy from Brazil who has an Espada and he ended up taking his seat leather to the factory where Valentino arranged to have it perforated. I think all four seat faces was around 600 euros just for the holes. Bob S.
Hi all, does anybody know if the Espada #8602 ist still somewhere? I have the original "Certificato di assistenza in garanzia" for this car. Issued on the 15.9.1972. Thanks a lot for any information. Matthias
They're much rarer and prices of the Isleros going up, the Jarama prices (about the same market and same enthusiasts looking after them...) tend to follow, at least in Europe.. Philippe M S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
If it's all new leather everywhere, seats with right punchs, carpets.., I'll guess 3K$ to 5K$. Philippe M S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
phillipe by the time i get my engine paint and stainless done it will be spring and the last place i'll want to see my car is in the garage so then most likely next fall will be when i will do the interior and i will want the "perforations " . so i will ask again everyones advice regarding the interior . Gary B suggested just sending just a thin roll to the factory and having that perforated roll return to the country of origin for the remainder of the work . sounds good to me . By the way Phillipe and all does anyone know a good source for the original radiator hose clamps? gary 8394
The originals on my car were nickle plated steel. The company that made them still offers a similar style clamp but I don't think it's nickle plate but stainless instead. I thinks that's acceptable and better. Talk to Craig Comontofski aka P400 or Miura on VLG he's got a lot of the details on his website. $3K-$5K sounds like quite a deal for a complete new interior. Makbe I should have mine done in Canada? Hey Phillipe, are paint jobs more reasonable there too? I'm, working with a guy locally in NY to see if he can develop a die for a roller punch to make these perfs. I think Italy might be a bit of a logistical problem (transport, customs etc.) plus it's 600 euros which seems steep to me for a few holes. Bob S.
So Gary now it looks like you are doing the whole complete ($) job... Gary Bobileff should know for those clamps, I don't. Philippe M. S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Bob, No, I don't think anyone is reasonable with these cars... Philippe M. S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Hi Phillipe, Well these cars aren't reasonable cars either! Did you do a complete replacement of the interior on Your car? Bob S.
Hi Bob, No, interior is all original. I found that the leather they use today -even in 100 points show cars- is much thinner than 40 years ago, and you can see it. Philippe M. S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
That's about the price of the Chevy-powered Espada for sale near New York... insane. Philippe M. S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Even if they gave away that car they'd still be screwing the customer. You have to be a commited enthusiast to take on that one. Bob S.
does not appear to be rosso granada and does not appear metallic? I know the 350s had a color called rosso alfa ? Anyone care to take a guess Gary 8394 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Gary, Well, it looks to me as rosso granada, which is slightly metallic.. Maybe because of the light on the photo... Philippe M. S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gary's car was originally Oro Metallic, which fits very nicely on an Espada IMO, and is a relatively rare color (1 of 74). If I were him I'll return it that color...but I think Gary likes Rosso Granada at this moment. Best. Philippe M. S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
I do like the color of the car just posted but I knows it's ahrd to judge a color from a single phoo and at a single time of day. By contrast, that color chip doesn't look close to that car. So you have the color specs for all the Espadas? How many in the color of my car aqua verde? Bob S.
you guys are killing Me !! I am so torn. For as long as I have been in the car hobby i have stressed originality and I know better than anyone that my car should be painted gold but until I see oro de mettallico against the window surrounds and bumpers i am just not so sure i want to do this. I know it would look good with the brown leather as well ...... Can anyone out there make me a chip on a peice of steel to see it in the flesh instead of looking at photos? Gary
