#1416 It is the same as the lamp of this red car. Two or three cars are doing a similar remodeling in Japan. It is a bad taste. Obtaining parts was difficult before. And, parts of other cars were often misappropriated.
I meant it looks like the car is horribly misshapen on the rear. I guess it's just a reflection but a very strange one.
Please forgive me if these are re-posts but I found these photos that may be of interest. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had the opportunity to weigh the Espada lately on a truck scale. With 1/3 tanks full, it measured 1630 kg, 870kg front and 760kg rear (that makes 53% front and 47% rear) so about 1600kg dry weight. Not bad, compared to the 1635kg in my manual and sales brochure, thought it was underestimated. I remember reading 1350kg in the first factory documents, Superleggera Espada anyone? I don't remember what you needed to know exactly but on mine the front one has 20mm dia x 27mm long no logo, the rear one have 23mm dia x 30mm long with a cigarette logo (measurements for the metal part)... thanks Phillipe!! I just found one on ebay! Gary B Checked out my wiring last lear when i first bought the car and found no evidence of a backseat lighter wiring so upon interior redo this winter i am choosing to not put a second one in as it appears it never had one as leather there is original too. thanks again Gary 8394
What is your take on the following? What appears to be a very, very nice Series II in Switzerland. Just about $70K USD (50000 euros). In the States, that's at the high end of the price range. But, she looks to be in very, very good shape. And the cost to get, on average, one of the available cars up to that condition can very easily blow right by $70K USD between buy price and restoration... and suddenly this car in Switzerland looks like.... a bargain. See for yourself: http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/23140/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63
It depends on what has actually been done to it. On the surface it looks like: New paint: New rear exhaust but it's also wrong. New AC compressor but non original looking hoses etc. Engine compartment looks clean but wrong in a few areas. The pictures are a bit bright on the wheels so ? The interior looks like if got refreshened but the rear seats look original. So what about the fronts? Just from that listing there are still a lot of questions. You need to find out before you can conclude it's a bargin I think. I like the color a lot. It reminds me of another seen on here ...
good points, thanks. went to seller's site, saw this: VIN #8278 Engine #40497 30958 Km restored Body 2002 new leather hide 2005 engine overhouled 2002
the vocal minority will probably say " hey buba i kin git me one those fer 25k and fixerup muself " but your correct it could actually be a bargin. i should know........ Gary 8394
Then make sure the hard facts about this car match your romantic mental fantasy image of what it appears to be. Always hard to do. At that price you sure as hell don't want to start spending tens (or more) of thousands of dollars on it as soon as you get it. It's very easy to do. Espadas operate upside down most of the time. Bob S.
For accuracy ask whether it's all new leather or has some of it been re-dyed. The rear seats look re-dyed to me. Then if it's been re-dyed ask if the seat was rebuilt. Pretty looking leather on rotten upholstery won't stay looking nice for very long. Restoration pictures of the body work? Engine work? etc. Dig and you'll find out how good a car it is. I hope it's everything you want it to be because it appears to be a nice looking car.
if anyones interested do a compression AND leakdown test and drive the car hard for at least 30 mins Gary 8394
I can say that with every mile I put on my Espada, today an extra 40...I almost dont want to sell it..this car is THAT GOOD...I sure as heck know it cant be replaced for all the money that was put into it by the ex owner..well over $60K in reciepts...everything works INCLUDING the clock!! All orginal paint and interior..and the III series with power steering is a great treat as well. http://www.catsexotics.com/web/1317/vehicle/684967/1976-Lamborghini-Espada-Series%203 Image Unavailable, Please Login
See what I mean about the upside down part. Original paint, original interior presumeably both in very nice condition. With relatively low mileage of 36K miles someone still claims they spent $60K on this car. The way I read the ad that doesn't include the purchase price of the car or am I wrong? Bob S.
Look at ex-Kirk Meighan Espada.....$120k in resto PLUS price of car......everyone thereafter gets a great deal.
Hi Roy, How much are you asking on the silver Espada? Can you email me a mechanical inspection report at [email protected]. I just sold an SIII and had some back-up offers. Cheers and best of luck with the sale, Bill Noon
That is correct, does not nclude the purchase price of the car, which at the start of the work was $28,500....all reciepts are documented with all the work havng been done by George Evans Automotive. The $60K PLUS does NOT include the approx $5000 that the last short time owner spent on removing the UGLY USA Rubber bumpers and UGLY plastic front grill to be replaced with earlier Espada OEM Chrome bumpers and the mesh front grill, which of course made the car look 110% better. I still have the USA bumpers and grill that comes with the car.
LOL true..but you know me, I am a car nut first...and would never sell anything I was not proud to have myself in my own collection. I pass on a lot of "cars" that are offered to me that are just not right..or I take them and make them right prior to any offering for sale. When I first got the Espada it was a car I HAD to take in a 5 car collection to get two other cars I wanted. I was not "thrilled" to get it, but after laying eyes on it..as well as driving it, my mind changed rather quickly. It is great to drive it, like sitting in a big comfy couch going fast LOL and to think that back in the day this type of car was driven by people that were the cream of the cream and it was a V12 top dog perfromer..it was the SHIIIZZS back then and still carries a great look of a future space ship car today...way ahead of it's time back then IMO> I also think the more and more I learn about these car..I find that they are way under appreciated as well as under valued.
