and do you know about an S3 with power steering but modified with front grille S2 + knock off wheels ???
I dont know an S3 with modified S2 front grille but I know two S3 with knock-off wheels. First one is #9430 which was already with the knock-offs in a period article in the mid-eighties. It was in a major private collection from 1988-2008 and auctioned by Coys in 2008. Second one is a dark blue car which was for sale in UK in 2009 but I dont know the VIN Both cars have the S3 dash and are RHD. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just wanted to show you pictures on restoration of my seats . All is made from ground up with sandblasted frames , painted and completely redone. Leather will be 100% on all interior , except stripes on the seats and on the dash top it will be black alcantara. These seats are with new handmade seat cushions (!), and new leather with alcantara stripes. (my own leather design.). Pictures show the loose leather before mounting on seats. Car was originally dark brown inside , it will now be Ivory with light beige carpets.... Hopefully car will be ready for trip to Italy jubilee in 2013 ! Best regards , Jon . Which Espada would be the ultimate for you guys ? My view is : S3 European base & interior LHD & power steering S3 mechanically S2 front grille Knock off wheels Carabo verde/senape
I really don't like the S3 dash but I haven't driven an S3 so I don't know if the ventilation system is a lot better or just a bit better. The double alternators and that clunky electronic ignition doesn't appeal to me either but like the S2 or S1 you can always upgrade the ignition system very easily only any of them and not have it show. I think I'd prefer a S2 with power steering over an S3 with knockoffs. I like the green I have a LOT. I don't know that I've seen the color you mentioned? The car looks great in blues and some metallic reds as well. Gary's car looks great as well.
These images are probably well known in the Espada world, but I thought I would repost them after failing to elicit a response from the 'here it is your worst nightmare...' thread, which in case you haven't looked at it is a photo-shopped image of Gallardos at a crusher. However, there is nothing photo-shopped about these images I can assure you. Despite my best efforts, I have never found out the Chassis and Engine Numbers of this car, but it is either a Series 1, or an early Series 2 and it is definitely the car that appears on p.59 of Jean-Francois Marchet's book 'Lamborghini Espada & the 4-Seaters'. When I contacted MIRA they said that all information of crash tests of that era would have been returned to the manufacturers, and they even seemed a bit annoyed and suspicious that I had the 'L53' test number from the car, despite the fact that it appears in the book!! Anyway, enjoy... sort of. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Yes, an early S2, totally agree, and why not an Azzurro Mexico / Rosso (1 of 2 in this color combination), exactly as this one: Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
I came perilously close to buying a 1972 Type 1 Espada back in 1980. The Porsche dealer who had it on his lot only wanted 12K for it. I did take a test drive (the salesman and I went to lunch), she ran great, no smoke, body was nice and straight. Interior needed carpets and seats, but that's about it. Unfortunately I was in the process of buying a cabin on a little Upstate New York lake, and two fairly large projects at the same time just didn't work out. Oh, well. I still have photos of a nice, bright red Espada I got to drive very briskly on a beautiful fall day 21 years ago. I hope whoever bought it (and someone quickly did) appreciated and enjoyed it, and with any luck enjoys it still.
Any car that has been with the same owner for a long time and is highly original and not monkeyed with by hack mechanics.
No, they weren't. I contacted Roger Phillips a few years back and he never had the remains plated and stuck in his front yard, as it was "too small", i.e. a typical English front yard!! As for where I get this SH.. for thedoc, well put it down to being a sadly obsessed Lambo nutter... so I should fit in really well with everyone here ;-) More pragmatically though, I have a collection of several thousand magazine articles devoted to Lambos. I intend to post on the collections thread soon as I'm wanting to trade spares with people.

Grazie Peter. I also appreciate the black/red color combo of your Jarama. Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Funny you should mention that. That's exactly what the factory did. They did a pretty sloppy job of it too. They just slobbered black paint all over the horns and red hose. I find that most owners don't like the sloppy paint look all that much. Mine are black anyway but the hose is red. There's a ton of black in that engine compartment so some owners like a bit of contrast.
i respectfully disagree ! seeing the red horns thru the mesh is just one more thing that used to be .... Today no one would would dream of doing that on a car . I like things old and different . Its an Espada. By the way where can i get some new red hose?? Can Anyone help with this request? Gary 8394
Maybe this guy knows where to find 5/16"? http://www.ebay.com/itm/RACING-GO-KART-PLASTIC-FUEL-LINE-1-4-INCH-HOSE-BLUE-ORANGE-RED-PURPLE-YELLOW-/150678570057?pt=Go_Karts&vxp=mtr&hash=item2315248449#ht_566wt_1396
As Staatsof said if you were doing a 100% concours restoration you would slap black paint on them as Lamborghini originally did. So it is wrong to see bright and shiny red horns ... should loose points . Seeing the horns IMO makes the front grill look very amature, like somebody just threw some mesh on the front of the car because the original grill was damaged. Hiding the horns will not highlight this, I believe. Pete
