    My 360 warranty expires mid '04. Anybody know what the dealer is now charging for extended warranties and is it worth it? Any other contacts for an independant extended warranty? Cost?

    Yes it is if you have to use it. Bought my '97 355B from Tonkin with a Factory sponsored 1 year "Powertrain-Plus" warranty. I had trepidations for laying down the cash at the time, Tonkin didn't mention there was one available, I had to ask.

    Wel, doing a tech for track day early last spring, my current (and best) dealer Ferrari of Atlanta found a leak in the powere steering rack. My PPI did not pick up anything wrong prior to purchase (other than some dash shrinkage on the leather).

    To get to the rack, most of the A/C system needed to be removed and replaced, requiring new reciever/dryer and recharging, more than a few fittings that had to be mangled to be removed as they were untouched since built and the rack itself had to be replaced and the front end realigned. So about $3000 in parts plus 15 hours @ $95 an hour the job was done. The total for the job came to $4425. If you subtract the $2000 I paid for the warranty (which luckily covered the repair), I came out ahead by almost $2500

    As the Fram Oil filter comercial once said "You can pay me now, or you can pay me later". I chose to bite the bullet up front.

    Get the warranty. It's probably ~1500 / year for powertrain related nonsense.

    PS; Wasn't someone on the old board saying that FNA was considering offering a pre-owned certified warranty or somesuch (a la BMW / MB) for some ridiculous price like $10k? If it included the services, I'd be all over that!

    1st Year for a 360 Bumper to Bumper Extended Warranty is about 6.5k. Powercube is about 3.5k (powertrain +) or 5k for 2 years. Numbers are approx.

    Just bought 1 year (3rd year) extra full waranty for my 360 F1, cost was 3100 Euro

    I bought a 2 yr Power+ waranty for £1950 a couple of months ago. The services on it are extremely good. I just used it once when my immobilizer could not be switched off. They sent a specialist recovery truck to take it and offered me a replacement car and a taxi back to my house !!! I was very impressed.

    I forgot to mention that this was on my 355.

    I also have a friend who just bought a 2001, 550 and took the Power 3 for £1500 for 1 yr.

    Gentlemen,

    I found out, by word of an inside Ferrari person, alittle inside scoop on the warranty issue that you guys are talking about. However, its very limited info as of this point. What I do know is that there is a meeting being held at FNA in Washington, addressing these so called warranty issues and how they are addressed at the dealership and bodyshops and to what extent they cover. The meetings have been taking place for a couple of days now, Nov. 20th and 21st, and will continue into this week, Nov. 24th to 26th. When I find more information, probably not before Wednesday, I will quickly pass along what knowledge I have obtained to you guys. Again, I'm not sure what warranty is being discussed, but I mostly defently will find out.
