Formula 1 will continue to race in the Netherlands until at least 2025 after the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort signed an extended contract. The deal adds races in 2024 and 2025 to the initial three years agreed with F1.
FIA ready to shorten DRS zones in F1 2023 The FIA looks set to reduce the length of some DRS zones in Formula 1 next season, amid concerns that overtaking has become too easy at several venues.
FIA introducing tougher floor tests for 2023 cars https://f1i.com/news/462490-fia-introducing-tougher-floor-tests-for-2023-cars.html
**** me, they're really confused at the FIA. Earlier this week: We must have reverse DRS so that overtaking is easier. Now we must have shorter DRS so that overtaking is harder. Make up your ****ing mind, FIA! And yes, shorter DRS with the goal to remove it entirely is the answer. But they're looking like complete ****ing inept idiots the way they're flip flopping all over the shop.
That's a good-looking track. It's not like the chicane ever did anything for the racing anyway. I can't recall anyone ever overtaking there unless they were blue flagged, and even then, backmarkers would sometimes be an impediment all the way until the final corner. All the best, Andrew.
I thought they put the chicane in because speeds in that last corner were so high they were worried about someone crashing and hitting the wall coming onto the straight (i.e. not adequate space to slow a car at that speed). I could be remembering wrong... either way agree with all, good riddance!
Exactly. Though the chicane wasn't installed to overtake there, but rather close the field up for T1. Didn't make an ounce of difference still Totally too the flow out from the track. Nice idea, didn't work out, should've been abandoned years ago.
Even with the chicane thee were plenty of shunts (and stunts) between the last turn and the stadium walls.

The Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne's Albert Park will be staying on the Formula 1 schedule for some years to come, with the announcement of a further two years to its existing contract. The race was already assured of remaining on the calendar until 2035, but now a further deal will take that up to the end of 2037. The state government of Victoria made the announcement on Thursday. The revised contract also means that Melbourne will host the season opener on four occasions during this time.
If F1 is going to continue to slide deeper into the pockets of the middle east and expand their presence there ... than fine. But for all is holy... shut the F up about the "we race as one" bullsh*t and the rainbows and diversity and all of that rhetoric. Seriously just shut the F up about it all if you're going to continue to expand and sign deals with an area of the world that is literally counter in practice to all the holy rolling diversity talk that gets crammed down our throats by F1 You can't have it both ways. You can't claim to be a champion of the LGBT and the rest of the whatever letters are fashionable these days, and race in those parts of the world with a straight face. If Lewis and other top drivers would boycott those races... maybe that would send the appropriate message. Let them be races for the reserve drivers. You just can't have it both ways.
