One thing I've learned- don't let one sales person stop you from getting the car you want. Just go around them- might be a pain but its worth it. You're right though that you shouldn't be exposed to this- its unfortunately something that happens.

Loyalty, however, seems to be in playing the game…and not in being a REAL customer or enthusiast. IMHO, a car that has 2200 miles in 4 yrs after 3 owners was NOT owned by anyone who has any business buying much less driving a Ferrari. They ought to sell to people who pledge to drive the effing things!!!!

Aren't you happier letting someone else eat the depreciation while preserving the car for the next owner?

Well…yes. I was pleased to purchase my "like new" 599 at 65% sticker. And its my car I was referring to re: miles and number of prior owners. I put over 8K in 6 mod….many more to come!!! And in a few years hope to collect a garage queen F12 for similar depreciation. Then drive the hell out of it.

Looks like I'll be following your footsteps yet again :)
Your car was absolutely mint when I saw it down here. My first glimpse at a 599 and it sparked my fire.

Interestingly, I also came across your previous Scud on the freeway not too long ago.

If the dealer already has customers waiting for the F12 prior to you - Why does that make him a bad guy not being able to give you an early car ?

Thats awesome!!! Good to hear the SCUD is out and about. It was a great first Ferrari. I think the 599 tops it though. EVERYONE I've spoken to says F12 has too much power and torque for roads….but I might wanna disagree in a few years!

The 599's power also sounded like too much at first. While it is a powerful car, I think some more power can make it interesting at higher speeds. 3rd gear and on up should be able to put the power down which is where I expect the F12 will shine.
Looking forward to add an F12 to the garage when the time comes. Keeping the 599 forever though :)

Don't ever let your dealer make you wait more than 8 months. This 8 months is considering they produce the car and ship it to North America. See, the car has a limited time. In 7 years, they will launch a new model. If you wait for 3 years, that's already half way. This is a normal production car, not a limited version like Enzo or LaFerrari.
Then in 2nd year, there will be plenty used with good condition for sale with depreciation. Everything back to economic theory : Customer is king. If you are being treated like a pawn, then things ain't right. At the end, Ferrari needs customers to generate profit, either new or existing. With now many new players like McLaren, Pagani, Koenigsregkskjngsjd, etc, if they make people wait too long, things can change direction. Some more existing economy-brands are all making super car. Even Honda is bringing back NSX.

I think it is the attitude... It was for me till I walked into a dealership that was glad to see me and happy to answer questions...

Yes one should never stand for any attitude no matter what the wait list looks like

One should never put up with attitudes - best to show your displeasure immediately to whoever gives you attitude
