Hmm I dont understand the new direction Ferrari took with the designs.. Very japanese like. Maybe to cater for the new big markets? The Cali, FF and this new F12 Berlinetta is just not my cup of tea. Especially the back end of this new car is hideous inmo. The frontend smiley faces I dont get either

It's another one to appeal to the younger generation of car kids/guys. i wish they would just make this agian and call it the 2012 SWB. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I like it. Looks like the Cheshire cat - mischevious. Maybe I'm not old enough to where I get scared of new designs yet? I'm glad Ferrari don't rehash the same design over and over (ala the 911). If you want an SWB, buy an SWB, pretty simple.
Agreed. I don't like the disproportionately huge smiley grilles, whether it's on Mazda, Peugeot, or Ferrari; but I especially don't like the swollen swoop on the lower half of the doors - looks like a woman packing too many pounds on her hips! I can picture it without that lower swoop, and the upper character line looks good, but that FAT character bulge connecting the front and rear fender flares is hideous.
Man, what happened to all the air scoops?! those are what truly make a car look exotic to me. Without any external air scoops in the bodywork, it just looks like a plain ol car. Sucks.
Jeesh, I feel like starting a "Keep the 599" petition. I can't decide which looks worse, the front, the back or the side..
Every time they introduce a new model, I think "It's ugly". Every time, about a year or two later, I see that it has grown on me. I think this is another example of that. We will get used to it, and the performance numbers are astounding, so it will be the new standard, sooner or later. Art
No kidding. I find nothing appealing about that design in any regard. How can they get the lines of the 458 so right & this thing all wrong?
I was not excited by the first pics of the 599. Then I saw it and loved it (and bought it). I'm blown away by this one from first sight,no doubts whatsoever, want it baaad....
I thought the 599 and 458 were beautiful right from the start. The California has grown on me... I am still not a fan of the FF though I have warmed up to it a little bit.. This car has made the worst first impression on me of any I can remember. I hope the Enzo replacement is awesome..
I think it looks fantastic! From the side, maybe a bit of Japanese style, but not anywhere else...for me this is an improvement on the 599.
I think the car looks amazing. I'd buy one...now to get on the list.... Wonder what the base price is going to be.
I like it for what it is. For me personally, I have never liked the long nosed cars like viper, vette, etc. Just personal preference.
If there some bit monsterous intake underneath the badge, I think it would help. I don't know, this new design bothers me less initially than when I first saw the 458... which I stilll can't love 100% because for some reason that I can't put my finger on. Just something about the sideview doesn't appeal to me but every other angle does. It's wierd. I was think this care would be a lot more aggressive looking. It's very sleek and stylish, but doesn't have the prototype look and feel, the race car in street car clothing kind of look. I'm sure my mind will change once they start to appear and you see real pics of them. I like it... I'm just not in love yet... but love grows does it not?
I think it looks absolutely fantastic. Plus, it's lighter, SMALLER, shorter wheelbase, you sit lower, the engine has 509 ft/lbs with 80% at 2500 rpm, it revs to 8700...
Its a lot better than the Cali or FF, not as nice as the 458 F has been doing smiley faces on cars since at least the 90s Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's described in the press blurb as a collaboration between the Ferrari Styling Center and Pininfarina. My guess is that the exterior was penned by Pininfarina designers, while the interior was by Flavio Manzoni et al. On topic: I love this car. The only thing that would make it better is if they removed the egg crate grill, and replaced it with a HGTE / GTO style grill.
