The sp2 are selling now for way way more. An official dealer just rejected an offer at £3.3m for a laferrari - aiming for near £3.5m, and that’s not a very special spec but a basic one…iconas are reselling at huge premiums, sp3 are going for above £3m.
Interestingly as well -,the very special special examples, rare colours, tailor made cars are reselling at huge gaps to the “standard” spec within a given model. Example. Just last summer an 812C owner was offered £1.6m for his tailor made 812C ( coupe) while a “standard” car would move around £1.3m.
Check the gap between the special tailor made tdf versus the basic rosso corsa, yellow, average spec cars. it is increasingly more about having the right , special car within a given model than it used to be.
Try enquiring for one of the Tailor Made Cavalcade edition of the 812C coupe and see where you would buy it …i expect the answer will be around £1.7/1.8m easy.
Finally…wait and see when Ferrari releases soon a very limited version of the sp3 ( special design/spec/colour ) like they did with the 70 anniversary …those cars will go for £5/6m everyday…all of those figures comes next spring summer will push the market for those cars way higher, particularly the very special cars.

This car no longer advertised. Would be interesting to know what price it sold for if it did. Def one of the best / most beautiful examples I’ve seen.

The absolute sadness of seeing these cars intended to give pleasure to the senses rot in garages because the value must be preserved... total nonsense or even what is supposed to be the reward of work and provide pleasure; but unfortunatly it becomes a new job: investment ! The Infernal Circle... A reward is useless if you don't take advantage of it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We all go to the same place, and deep in the earth and cars are not part of the trip, nor are bank accounts... How sad it is not to be able to free oneself from this notion of investment...
Give me an SP3 and I'll drive 30,000 kms a year with it ! And those memories I'd take with me...
Finally, in the course of evolution, human beings learn nothing, they always retain the daily feeling of being immortal !

The solution is to have 2 tdf, one very special, well preserved, one off to be kept and cherished for what it is, a work of art not to be repeated, and another one, more basic spec & colour, higher mileage to be driven 30,000km!!! That is precisely why the gap between the “drivers” examples and the very special well preserved low mileage examples will continue to widen, some examples will be treated as collectible / investments and others as cars to be enjoyed and driven hence the large & widening premium. I know a few owners who have 2 tdf one to drive one to store / collect

As I told my sales associate about both my F12, and my F8 Spider, “I didn’t buy them to look at them.” And I would use the same philosophy if I had the means to get a “halo” car, because in the end it is a car. Recently, in another thread, I saw an Enzo for sale with about 250 original miles. So sad, somebody please drive the crap out of that poor car. I buy stocks as investments, which have allowed me to buy the cars.

Truly stunning example and great colour combination. With its mileage and full documentation this has to be one of nicest tdf I’ve seen for sale - looking forward to the end of the auction to see how much it goes for, I’d expect over $1.5m without too much trouble

Don't be too sure. BJ has peculiar group of bidders more focused on "resto mods" than Ferraris... could be hit or miss.

NO RESERVE sale among group of largely non-Ferrari type bidders. Will be interesting to say the least.

New to this stuff, does the auction house really affect the bidding/sale of the car that much? In my perception if somebody wants a F12tdf and has the funds to do so they can take a weekend off to travel to wherever the auction is taking place in. Do spontaneous buyers exist in the collector world?

And $98k in 8% seller's fees ... so the seller is getting $1,127,000.
Seems about market price, but might have done better on BaT or consigning it through his dealer.

Thank you. A bit lower than what I would have expected possibly as you mentioned before due to the fact it wasn’t the best venue to sell that car.
Also I assume that price is before sales tax ? If so then the overall price paid is in excess of $1.4m is that right?

It seems tdf’s have softened about 10% or so from their peak last year. It’s possible they jump back up when central banks start to lower interest rates

Does not include sales tax, which will vary, depending on which state in which it is registered. Typical is ~6.5%, so that takes it to $1.435m.
