I can identify 3 known current cars in this line up. Rob Lay, Rob Cohen and Colin Cohen. Anyone else. At one time the Caracas field was 16 cars many of which had some form of underlying government sponsorship through Citgo and other entities. How things have changed. I wonder if there is a pile of Challenge parts lying around there?
pretty sure the KC crew has acquired a couple of these original challenge cars lately. not sure which ones, I think one was Tom's.
Rob, Pardon my ignorance, but who is the KC crew? I ask because I'm in the early stages of a hunt for a race shop willing to do rent-to-own on a 355 Challenge car in the FCCR series. I talked to Taurino and they're not interested in supporting a 355. I haven't talked to Universal yet.
Norwood Auto Italia in TX has more current experience racing the 355 than anyone else out there. That should be your first call.
I have Tom's car. Norwoods won't do rent to own but will support a 355. They have the most experience including some unique required race mods.
Colin, as I just acquired Rob Cohens 355 I'm very interested in getting the cars history complete. Which one of the Caracas cars at the the Canada race is Robs' car? I know it was raced by Milka Duno at sometime around 1999/2000 but she's not on the list. Can you help?
I own the Carlos Hank Jr./Christian Briggs F355 Challenge (#104390). Briggs won the 2000 F355 US Championship in the car. Hank was usually a top three finisher. I sure would like to find some pictures of my car from the races. I have found all of the race results, but no photos. Its last race was at the Indy F1 weekend in 2000. When I was at Indy for the SVRA race last year I checked in the photo archive department, but no photos from the F1 weekend! The car was rosso corsa when raced by Hank and then painted argento by Briggs. Jeff Moore
This is a link to a webpage that I put together with the results for the 1997 races. Fortunately I printed them out a few years ago, apparently they aren't posted to the web any longer. I will post links to '98, '99 and '00 as soon as I have time to finish scanning them. 1997 Ferrari F355 Challenge Race Results Enjoy, Jeff Moore
