Talking about high compression, today I noticed that Superformance are now offering high compression pistons for the 355s as well as standard units, interesting. I would like to know more about this piston.

^^I would be surprised if the 355 could use much more compression than stock unless valve timing was altered.

Nice pics btw, everything is looking great.

With a stock piston of 11:1 compression, I'd be very concerned about increasing it and if the other parts in the motor could handle it....

The stock 355 has plenty of power for the street.

Wow, sounds like a disaster of an engine when you bought this car. Curious if you got compression numbers before the rebuild?

The intakes don't look like factory valves unless they have changed them. Here is a old factory valve, shown in the picture. Note how it is shaped. Not flat. Not a big deal, just wondering.

A flat valve would increase the compression ratio a little wouldn't it?

Yes. With a ratio of 11:1, the 1 is the volume of the cylinder head chamber so the flat valves would reduce that volume and therefore increase the compression ratio

PS, I think I recognize that photo :)

Se my post, #50, above. :)

A couple of cc's less chamber volume. Maybe push it from 11 to 11.5, or a little less.

I just used a thin oil and syringe to measure the dish on the intake valves: .4 cc
