I just made a statement.. 29k is NOT high miles, not in a ferrari, or a fiat.. not in any ******* car. It's SUPER low miles..

ok, if you want to maximize resale I guess then sure.. but I would never purchase a car I couldn't drive because I was afraid I would lose the money I bought it for.. I just consider the money lost and the car mine... I guess some people don't and that's cool too.. but don't try to tell me 29k is high milage in any world or reality.

and BTW.. I am considering a 355 spider (red/tan) for my father this summer as a gift.. let me know because the miles don't matter to me AT ALL.. I also have my own mechanic that does all my maintenance (belts and all) for a fraction of ferrari/lotus prices..

So yeah I would buy a 50k mile 355..because besides the fact that the car is being driven, there is virtually NO DIFFERENCE in your car and a 5k mile 355 spider.. is there? (and I also consider 50k miles to be very low too)

And here is a long thread about some current asking prices in the wholesale...the 360 spider over all is over 1% higher over the last 2 weeks...

I'm posting up a little late on this one, but doing so after reading what all the nay sayers wrote: if the PPI checks out, I think its a great buy, and if it was Wyclef's, so much the better. If you don't like the wing or any of the other mods, it'll be chump change to remove them. Just 1 year ago, these cars were still selling for $200k - it's still the same great car, so if you want one, $100k for a spider is a great price.

And if it was Wyclef's car, that is a major bonus - just think about being able to buy a Miles Davis car 30-35 years ago - most people would not have thought much of it then, but today, people pay a serious premium for a car's owner history.

Which brings a better price in the secondary market, the 6 M/T or the F1 gearbox?

    john,

it actually was sold for $91k to a fella F-chatter here. PPI checked out w/ flying colors......for a 360 spider w/ low miles and desirable color combo, it's a great deal (at least for today)

To me miles are not an issue if the ppi checks out. I would be driving it quite a bit myself to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Living here in florida I would look forward to driving a Spider after a hard days work.
