After a last minute crisis, car is finally back and we can get on. New wheel nuts look good. More to follow as a hectic few days await. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I love these shots, a great many with special treasures in the background like the plexiglass-nosed Daytona above. Thankyou again for the very regular updates.
What an epic restore! I do like the ideas for a magazine article or even a book to record both the restoration itself and what it was like to live through it .
D-7 Well we are really up against it to make the 13th now with just 5 working days to go and holidays to cope with so Kevin and the lads are having to pull out all the stops. Work continues on the clam. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking good Tim. You've been impressively patient throughout this process and the spectacular results speak for themselves. Try and resist the urge to rush at this final phase, not worth risking marginalizing the great work already done.
Perfectly fair point. All being well, the car is due to be photographed in detail on the 13th, together with other plans, and as such, ideally, best dress is required. Forgot to point out on the underside of the clam, note that all the high pressure LM ductwork has now been fitted, so closing on paint. Hopefully.
A bit of colour back in the thread. Rear clam and doors back on, for the last time I hope. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Simply wonderful. This shot reminds me of how much I like the signature triple exhaust tips on the F40 (and the 458).
D-5 Much detailing work on many aspects still to be done as the car is also being photographed on the 13th for a leading magazine. Front Clam still in primer - Nervous times. Image Unavailable, Please Login
just noticed the 246 with 360 wheels in the background. First time I have seen that combination (and in gold!)
