Other than 74045 did all the other Michelotto LM's and GTE's leave the factory as regular road car's?

There is a thread in here with a definitive list of all the original LMs etc. I will take a look tonight to see if I can find it again. I think it last popped up a few months back, and also maybe referenced in Tims thread in recent times

The F40 pictured in post #179 with the yellow number 1 looks like # 73015. One interesting addition is the visible side view mirror on the driver's side. The mirror is missing in all other pictures I have seen of this F40. As confirmed by someone who worked on the program the yellow number on the side window identifies which prototype it is. Pictured below is car number 6.

Yes that is a rare pic of Number 1 with mirrors affixed and MO Prova plates.

I'll respectfully defer the question of it's existence to Marcel.

Incidentally, that MO.856 Prova plate was used years earlier on the 288 GTO Prototype.

The highest F40 Prototype number I have seen is 8

The drivers mirror looks much higher up in that pic, they must have been trying all sorts of configurations at the time. I think the production versions suited the car the best in the end.

Thank god they did not put the 288s submarine snorkels on it! :)

Without knowing the VIN, how do you know this is a Prototype?

That's a great question and I just assumed that it was as it is a Ferrari car. Now i don't know if it was a special order from someone very close, but it was Ferrari that made this.

Standard production car. #80776. Not a prototype.
I saw this car at the factory on the 24th July 1989.
I saw it again in the car park of Carrozzeria Scaglietti in Modena on 19th May 1990, now with 1'399 kms.

LMs were no road cars, except 74045
GTE’s most road cars, but not all!

Thank you on the lm/gte difference. Perhaps I wasn't clear though; I meant leave the Ferrari factory as unregistered but otherwise road spec cars, obviously once they left Michelotto they were race cars. I was intrigued to know to what extent they were all converted road car's but if i understand it right, most left Ferrari as incomplete but otherwise road spec cars, which makes a lot of sense given the myriad of changes in the LM/GTE
