I have an engine management light on with an error code of PO442 - Evaporative Emission System leak detected (small leak) Does anyone have any indication to what fault this may point to. The car drives completely normal at present.
Common and there are three areas we see issues with beyond a loose gas cap on both the 360 and 430. First is cracked lids on the fuel pumps. Second leaking gaskets or cracked rollover valves. Third stuck purge valves, usually with carbon from the charcoal canister. System should be smoke tested under pressure to trace the source of the leak. If its a spider it a crappy job as to access the rollover valves requires removal of the convertible top cartridge.
