Can you please check your window lift switches on the dashboard in the dark with lights off and no power to the car? I need to know if yours are illuminated. I noticed that mine were illuminated with no lights on and no power to the car. I'm trying to find out if this is normal. No other switches illuminate until I turn on the head lights. Thanks.

Upon looking into my car which has been parked for 2 weeks and with a CTEK charger attached, all lights including the window switches were not illuminated. Upon touching the little door handles, the window switches became illuminated. When opening the door, all of the interior lights went on. Then when closing the door, the interior lights went off but the window switches remained illuminated. After about 5-10 mins the window switches turned off. Hope that helps.

I opened the passenger door this morning to hook up the CTEK. Twelve hours later the window lift switches are still illuminated. Any ideas?

The only thing I've done in that area was to slide the Becker radio out to replace the right window lift switch. The switch was a new unit from Ricambi. If the switches are staying illuminated all of the time, I'm wondering if this is the cause of my battery drain after three days of non use.

    Hey Bill,

Sorry you are having this issue. On mine, the lights stay 30seconds, the window switches 5 minutes, which I did not know before! Let us know what you find.

Joe - Thanks for the lead. I tried the door handle workout on the passenger side. No help so far. I'll pop the arm rests tomorrow and see if I can see the micro switches. Maybe some contact cleaner will help. As for now it's on the CTEK so the battery won't go flat.

Thanks to Ricambi's diagrams I have found that there are two micro switches in each door. One switch is for the outer handle and the other is for the inner. I can hear them click on the passenger side but not on the driver's side. I will start there.

I still have not figured out how the inner door lock buttons work. Right now they act like there is no power to them. I can lock the car with the push button in the key or with the key using the door keyhole. Nothing happens when I use the buttons inside.

Mine wont shut off either. Anyone try the fix in the above link? Flicking the door handles several times?

I tried that to no avail. So far I think I have it isolated to the inside driver's door handle as I do not hear a micro switch clicking like I do with the other three positions. I haven't had the time to tear into it yet so it stays on the CTEK when not in use.

I tried also. Taking to dealer. That fix mentioned doesn't work. Dealer said its probably a faulty window regulator. The other thing I noticed is that the passenger window moves up and then down when you open and close passenger door. All probably related to same thing. He is going to try to CPO it. We'll see.

Let us know if that's a good fix. The only other oddity I've noticed is the passenger window does not disappear completely when in the fully lowered position. It sticks up from the base of the door about a 1/4 inch. The driver's side goes completely down and out of sight.

Did this start by chance when a battery was replaced? Reason I ask is my wife's Jaguar had the window not knowing where the stop is after replacing the battery. On her car, there is a sequence where young"re-train" the windows!

Possible in my case as I have changed the battery. My assumption was the battery was old (2009) based on records but it could have been the sitting for 4 days with the window lift switches illuminated. It took about the same amount of time to kill the new Optima. So far no issues as long as the CTEK is hooked up. I just ordered another one for the Vette.

As soon as my Fabspeed headers and exhaust arrive, I'll have plenty of down time to start sorting things out. The brake pads will be replaced while I have the car elevated as well as I'm tired of the black wheels every time I drive it.

If the Ferrari is like the Jag you have to hold the window button in the down position for about 5 seconds after its fully down and the same in the up position. This learning procedure sets the upper and lower limits. On the Jag after the 5 seconds you can actually hear a click indicating that it has learned the location.
The window moving down when you open the door and vice versa is normal -- allows the glass to seal against the weatherstripping.

It's a issue with door handle on passenger side - mine was anyway. Mine was fixed by dealer. Sticky part I think. 1 hour service charge. Keeps light on when it should shut with 5 min
