We have a new member in Augusta that has offered to host a BBQ at his home and bring out his new ENZO for show. We are trying to schedule this on June 23rd as an afternoon BBQ with an optional Golf outing at the Augusta Country Club on the 22nd. I will look into getting a small group of hotel rooms blocked off if anyone would like to come down and make it a 2 day event.

If you are interested please respond to me and let's see if we can get enough to make it happen. [email protected]

    This is coming together nicely!
We have 3-4 others already committed with 3 more undecided. There is room for 6 golfers on Friday and up to 20 for the BBQ Saturday evening.

We will likely be adding a short 50 mile rally on Saturday at noon to a little enzo chasing.

    I'll do it. Sound's fun.

I think I'll skip the golf part since I can't play.

Sorry but I have to ask, is this open to non-FCA members? If so I'll try to make my plans around it.

    Walt,
It is, but you will be assessed a small extra fee for the BBQ. Depending on the number of people the charge will probably be something like 15.00/head for FCA or 20.00/head for non-FCA

PS the golf will be about 100.00/person

There are a lot of hotels. But there is an old historic inn called the Partridge Inn that has rooms available at 129.99 and it is central in a residential area. They have a parking deck that is a bit tight but hopefully we can block off a few places.
I will go down this week to investigate

It is up to you to make hotel reservations, but the partridge does have rooms available

I want to pick the hotel that most folks are staying. Should I go ahead and reserve the Partridge?

Partridge Inn is the best location in Augusta for this, not the newest or swanky-est place, but it is in a quiet and safe location and if necessary I'll arrange for a security guard to sit with the cars. It is a 100yr old historic place but has great food and a great sunday brunch.

PS I went to see our host's F-40 and ENZO today--beautiful cars indeed!

As it stands we have almost 30 people coming more calling every day.

    ----------------- PLANS --------------------------

Due to the HOTTTTT weather and people not getting away on a weekday for golf, we are going to drop the golf .

Those coming in Friday night are welcome to come to the Augusta Country Club for cocktails and dinner at 6pm if desired on Friday.

The Rally and BBQ will run as follows.
Assemble at the top parking lot at the Augusta Country Club at 10:30 AM on Saturday ( about 1 mile from hotel)
Depart for rally in 1 minute intervals from ACC parking lot starting at 11:15.
Rally is 74 miles ( about 1:45) ending at Joe Gaddini's house at 1:00pm
    Lunch served at 1:30 - 3:00

There is a festival at the lake after if you want to stay.

The weather is looking good....A bit hot, but no rain in the forecast as of now. We will have Cavallino signs placed at the entrance to my neighborhood and at the front driveway. Food & drinks will be catered by Famous Daves BBQ...with beef & chicken, etc..

Look forward to meeting everyone & having a nice Saturday afternoon Ferrari gathering.

hey guys.... funny story here. i actually work at the Augusta Country club and upon leaving today at around 11:00am i walked out and ran straight into a Viper. the tag said JJ's viper i believe.. SC tags..sounded like it might have had an aftermarket cam?.... in front of the viper was a porsche.. and following shortly behind the 2 lead cars was a ferrari in full race attire. ( if anyone could tell me exactly what it was i would appreciate it a lot! ive never seen that particular model.) anyhow

after riding around town today i kept noticing various other ferraris.. i saw a f430 on washington road.. and another older one ( magnum PI looking??? blue with a gentleman standing outside reading a map on the side of the road) on riverwatch parkway... i figured there HAD to be something up... one short google search away and i have my answer.

just wanted to drop a line.... funny how that worked out. i hope you guys all had a great time and enjoyed your time at the country club.

    -Clayton

cliffs notes: What was the car withr ace graphics in the ACC parking lot? looked like a track car.. sparcos and all.

Welcome to f-chat Clayton. The car you are talking about belongs to
Roland Lindler. It's an F40 with LM . You may recognize it and him
from some of the ads for Mothers wax.

By the way, we have photos in the NC/SC section and at fca-sc.org in
    the gallery.

Sorry I was late seeing this thread. Used to live in Augusta years ago (built a house in National Hills). Would have driven the TR up for this event.

Looks like folks had fun. I will have to check the South Central forum more often.
