    Hi everyone,

This is my first post here and I’m very happy to join the forum.
I’m a new 550 M owner in France, this was my dream and my first Ferrari. I’m incredibly happy with it.

While I was in Paris traffic for 45mns, 2 lights suddenly came : Check Engine and shocks Warning.

After a battery Disconection and the manual ÉCU reset process, Shocks warning light is out. Sometime coming back but not that often.

I tried to look if everything looks normal behind the fuse box and I noticed a cable ( Not SD2 câbles … ) was disconnected. ( see photo )
Could a Ferrari 550 owner here tel me if they have the same or if this cable should be plugged somewhere?

    Many thanks!

There is a white plug in this photo which seems to be unused, but it looks smaller.

Could you list the wire colours (including stripe colours)? How many sockets/pins does the plug have (including unused ones)?

You seem to be missing item #43 (rear fog light control station).

Do you have a rear foglight switch?

Note that there is an empty slot on the relay panel...

... but as far as I know, it's unused on all 550's.

There is an unused white connector in that area that is used to turn on the lights permanently for countries that require daytime running lights. The part that plugs into it is just the mating connector with wires joined together and heat shrink on top to close the circuit. When plugged in, all outside lights will be on whenever the key is on regardless of the light switch position. It was in my car, probably added when brought in to Canada from the US. I removed it because I did not like having the lights on when starting the car, just seemed like more drain on the battery than necessary.

My 550 had the suspension light come on at random intermittently. Couldn't replicate. SD2 showed no stored errors. My tech identified a faulty (shorted) "Sport" switch. Didn't see the suspension light again after the switch was replaced.

Thanks for the reminder, Ryan. According to the wiring diagrams, that connector only has 3 wires. Yellow/black, Yellow/Red and Green/Yellow.

Pierre's photo seems to show more than this (?).

    Hi Pierre,

Did your car sit for a long time before you bought it ?
When a rarely used car starts getting used again things will start flowing again and problems will arise. It happened to me, leaking high pressure power steering hose, had to rebuild shocks, replace braded oil hose(ouch), leaking coolant hose, replace water pump.

Alot of it from the car sitting too long is my guess.
