    Hi guys,

I recently encountered a very strange situation with the subject mentioned panel. Everytime I park my 599 under the hot sun for more than half hour.. the panel of course would be hot.. as with all other cars it's the same... however, the LED on the "REST" button keeps blinking and it refuses to turn on the blower or engage the AC...

I have to return home... park in my garage ... turn off the kill switch.. let the entire cabin cool down... usually it'll take about an hour or so.. .then turn on everything and the panel works again...

WTH? anyone encountered this before? what's the fix on this? or do i have to replace this control panel?

    Thanks

One possibility is low refrigerant. If the AC blows cold when it's working, this is probably not it. But AC systems generally have a low pressure kill switch, to protect the compressor when the refrigerant/oil mix has leaked to the point that there might not be enough oil in the system. A cheap OBD II scanner might help with the diagnostics.

Get a windshield blocker and use it whenever you leave her in the sun as a first step.

Saves the dash leather too. That is a PITA to replace.

You can also lower the interior temperature in the sun by installing a film on the inside of the windshield to cut the heat transmission.
