Hello. I was driving my 08 F430 Spider and noticed the battery acid was on the flashlight that comes with the car. I tried to remove the end cap but its seized and I have no idea what to do anymore. Ive tried wd40, hot water, and soaking for up to 2 days and it wont budget. I taped around it and really tried twist the end cap but still no luck. Any ideas or does anyone have one that I can buy?

I’ve taken apart maybe 15 of these. Getting the end cap off is the hardest part. Almost nothing penetrates in there from all the corrosion. Best bet is going to be to heat with a torch, then penetrating oil, then heat, and keep cycling to help draw the oil in. Eventually you may be able to get it to turn if you don’t mar it up. If you can’t, cutting it off is basically your only option.

I never kept the batteries in my Ferrari flashlight for fear of that happening. I know that does not help when you need the light, but I never kept the flashlight or the owner’s manual case which it resides in the car anyway. I bought a normal LED Mini Maglite (batteries in) and carrying pouch and kept it in the glovebox for emergencies.

I’m afraid you’re not going to have any luck getting it apart without destroying the light. There’s a guy on this Forum that sells replicas or look on EBay for an OEM replacement, but they are stupid expensive.

You can but you might have to sacrifice the tail piece. I've done a few and just replaced the tail with a current aluminum one. It doesn't match exactly but it's better than nothing.

Or you can be an idiot like me and buy a second one, which was damaged on top, to "borrow" the bottom to make a complete flashlight. Sometimes my OCD gets the better of me.

Same. I got lucky and was able to remove the tail on mine. I'd probably go this route if I hadn't.

That's a lot of money for a knurled replica. I wonder why he didn't use the smooth version made for logos. https://www.everythingpromo.com/aa-mini-maglite-with-smooth-barrel

I bought a knurled silver and added a vinyl logo for like $20 total. Then I bought two real OEM ones since like tulip bulbs they are only going up in value!
