The backstage video has some great shots of the lexan engine cover. The cutouts and overall visual effect of the cover are more significant than I initially imagined and I like it!

Talking in general, Aston Martin really nailed it. IMHO i believe that the rest will follow 2 companies. Aston Martin and Koenigsegg.

I can read it "official sketch" - that makes me particularly proud ;) ("esquisse" is the similar word in french, so it was easy)

Looks pretty good, def. better than 488.

    Sounds just as bad sadly.

All this winging about the 488, Tributo, Pista sound, is beyond laughable. They sound unreal! To continue suggesting they sound bad is only embarrassing yourselves even further - if that's possible.

Ferrari has done an amazing job producing the sound of their V8 Turbos, which put all others to shame inc most atmo engines. And 99% say the say same thing how amazingly good they sound. The remaining 1% of wingers can continue to "winge" their little hearts out to deaf ears.

Ferrari said the F8 produces a 'unique thrilling sound'.So assume it's an improvement on the 488 ,similar to Pista?

Top one from post #1383; it reminds me of the original Challenge Stradale rear treatment. Though slightly different result here as the F8 rear panel is tilted out at the bottom and not vertical as in the image created quite artistically above. Great work to create this new look!

IMO current Ferrari turbo engines cannot be compared to their own normally aspirated engines much less put them to shame.

Folks today are accepting the sound of these small turbo engines compared to shrieking big block NA engines and over time access more credit than is due. Its interesting to watch because they really believe it. Doesn't matter as soon enough there will be little and then no sound.

I am not disagreeing or being argumentative with your point, but this is the first time I have heard the term big block in reference to those beautiful older NA engines!

I was referring to the current 6.5 L 812s engine which equals 396 cubic inches. Typically, anything under 350 cubic inches is referred to a big block and anything under is a small block. The 488 has a 3.9 L which is decidedly a small block at 238 ci. If you get up close to the underside of an F12 or 812 V12 dry sump engine the term enormous would be better suited!

I was told the same today. Also the F8 will sell more than the 488 GTB because of all the Asian buyers. Apparently 4 is a bad luck number and 488 even more.

I want to enjoy my 488GTB for now as i believe its perfect. When i see the F8 in the flesh i might change my mind but i will be buying the last production in that case 2021-2022 as i DONT WANT A HYBRID

Yeh '4' in Chinese sounds like death ...however '8' is supposedly very lucky!

So in condo you have floor 1,2,3,3A,5,6,7 etcetc

Ahh I understand. Yes the current V12 is amazing and huge! I was only thinking V8’s.

    Have fun!

Probably not as high as they could have been......(there will always be some that ignore superstitions, but MANDALAY is correct, that particular belief is alive and well in parts of SE Asia, and particularly China). Obviously no way to track how many potential buyers took a pass on models with "4" in their designations, if any, but still a real concern to some in those areas. That said, I doubt the F8 designation was related to that concern.) ;)

And for comparison sake, what would a 488 GTB have been?

If before-tax prices are the same in the EU (which they used to be) that means 4% increase.
