I think one recently sold on eBay when mr_seeker liquidated T.C. Angel's collection...I can try to search that sale results.

That appears to be a notecard from Enzo Ferrari with his purple hand written salutation.

Look in the Book Collectors thread, I know it's long but lil' squid discusses Il Flobert in a post in that thread also.

For some reason my search of eBay 'completed listings' for seller 'mr..seeker' also didn't show it, only recently completed auctions.....I must be doing something wrong as I considered it myself.

I went ahead and made the purchase for a good price.

I think the note card pictured above is a nice plus to the book. Is it written from Enzo himself? Maybe so, sure looks like it.

Anyone know what it says in English?

I will post up some pictures when it arrives for future reference.

The card says 'molti auguri" or 'best wishes'. It looks like Enzo's hand-writing.

There's one on Ebay at the moment for £442 no bids - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IL-FLOBERT-DI-ENZO-FERRARI-/260731489722?pt=Collezionismo_Sportivo&hash=item3cb4cecdba

    Nice.

$676.00 + shipping US for that one.

Hard to tell with the one picture if it is a mint example but it looks decent.

I paid more for mine but less than the one I posted above for sale in Japan.

For me though, owning my own copy...priceless!

I have seen references to this book. I don't read Italian. What is the translation of the title, what is the subject matter, and why is it so important to a serious collecter? just one man's opinion tongascrew

This is Enzo's revenge on Italian journalists. Here he features photos, a brief biography, and his own opinion of 53 Italian journalists.
IMHO it is NOT important. It tells you nothing about Ferrari, and is only important if you have to have everything written by Enzo. I haven't bothered adding it to my collection.
    Nathan
PS I'm surprised you haven't googled it.

I'm with Nathan on this one... It is in fact the only official book by Enzo i DON'T have...

Have seen it once in Maranello , flipped true the book and passed. Does not add enough for me to have it in my collection either...

I just received my book. Very happy with the purchase and it is in better condition that expected. This example looks like it was just printed.

What a wonderful book. The cork type cover is unique and special.

Totally different than other Ferrari books in regard to content.

Its a great piece of Ferrari history and oh so rare.

Highly recommend to any serious collector looking for a variety of historic Ferrari material.

I will post up some pics later along with some additional thoughts.

A definite collectible; a great follow on to "Le Mie Gioie Terribili" and "Le Briglie del Successo". Some great early photos, especially of documents and other memorabilia. I wish it was in English. It's in my collection.

The title means "The Flobert". Flobert is an Italian gun maker. Make of it what you will.

A flobert is a type of indoor gun invented by the Frenchman Louis Flobert.

Thus the cover of the book; Italian journalists the target of Enzo's words.
