This is P-42, a specialized record breaking variant of the soviet Sukhoi-27 fighter jet. It is in bare metal colour to save the weight of paint. The engines are tuned so much the tires and brakes are unable to hold it back on the runway when at full thrust. It is usually tied with steel rope to two battle tanks to keep it stationary. It can climb to 11 kilometers in less than one minute, including the take-off roll! About twice as powerful as the Eurofighter or the F/A-18. Very loud and not fuel efficient at all. Quite good looking, pity the F-chat refuses full sized images. Image Unavailable, Please Login
They actually showed the race's result on CNN in the US a while back. The jet one 2 races to 1. They showed a video clip with the jet ahead and already taking off, but the Ferrari was keeping up pretty well. http://www.cnn.com/2003/SPORT/12/11/f1.fighterjet.ap/ Top Gear had a Harrier jet vs. Saab 9-5 and the Harrier took a while at first (the Saab had a max 1 car length lead), but then the Harrier easily beat it. Motor Trend did a quarter mile race of a Lingenfelter TT 427 Vette vs. Blue Angels F/A-18 jet and the Vette won (9.24 at 150.27 mph and 0-60 in 1.97 seconds).
What do you mean? The Eurofighter is one of the fastest fighters in the world today. The A-10 on the other hand is very slow has a topspeed of 430mph. A Ferrari F1 can beat an A-10 easly but i dont know about the eurofighter.
Yea, I know. The guy above me brought the thread back up after over a year and I noticed no one posted the results, so I did. I think the F2004 would beat it though...
