It is sad and funny at the same time, that by the 90s Lamborghini was famous for being a clutch eater. The clutch diaphragm force curve is really strange.
A friend of mine confirmed that some Iveco light commercial truck clutch is a direct replacement for a Countach/LM002 clutch.

    Congrats. Imho improved program.

Why is the old longnose "Babbo Natale" involved in it ? Still Tonino backs him ??

We all know the incredible BS he is still spreading in some interviews and videos:

2:33 to 2:40: "he (Ferruccio Lamborghini) was actually a farmer...from a very poor family...."

2:48 to 3:00: "he (Ferruccio Lamborghini) was used to go after the war...everywhere...stealing...stealing...lets say vehicles..."

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-__PiiGi3s

I really hope Tonino will not help broadcasting such incredible multiple BS in the 2016 cinema movie !

I think he is still involved simply because he is the best goodwill ambassador for the Lamborghini marque alive, and Tonino, the Lamborghini factory, and many enthusiasts worldwide, all understand & appreciate this.

I also think that his representation of Ferruccio's humble beginnings is accurate, as represented by Ferruccio & Tonino themselves.

As regards Ferrruccio taking vehicles left behind by the Allies after WWII, that much is so stated by Ferruccio & Tonino themselves, and is no secret. Many of us can see how 'taking' can be lost-in-translation and interpreted as 'stealing'. Perhaps the narrator is using poetic license to describe the taking of military equipment that way, and it certainly makes for a more dramatic rendition, the one more likely to be in the film. I'll bet Tonino has no problem with it.

Basically, nobody really cares about these details, Lamborghini lovers simply care that Ferruccio made amazing sports cars.

As for the allegations against the gentleman you describe in disparaging terms, at least he has the class not to disparage others from behind a pseudonym, and unlike many characters who swirl around the Lamborghini community, he actually gives far more than he needs to in real terms with his time and his help.

If you are unhappy about the way history is being interpreted, you can always write your own version, and get it published.

just for the record: The person is a simple mechanics called VALENTINO BALBONI. VALENTINO BALBONI is suspect of defaming the deceased CAVALIERE ING. H.C. FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI:

"he (FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI) was actually a farmer..from a very poor family..he WAS used to go after the war..everywhere..STEALING..STEALING.."

Here the link for the relevant video where VALENTINO BALBONI states the above mentioned (30 seconds between the second minute and the third minute):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-__PiiGi3s

I have been informed that the persons engaging in the above mentioned suspected defamations of the deceased FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI (including similar actions and backing such actions) already being subject of criminal investigations.

The relevant suspected crime is called DEFAMATION OF THE DECEASED. Here a non complete list of member states of the European Union that have a special criminal paragraph for this crime:

Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia and Sweden.

It is always highly recommended to turn on the brain before...it is too late.
    Cheers

I saw that video @ 5 years ago when it was first posted, its been in the public domain since then, and I think his characterization of Ferruccio's postwar endeavors is his opinion, which he is entitled to. If anyone is doing any defaming in the present, its hardly Valentino. A non-issue IMHO.

The simple mechanics VALENTINO BALBONI is obviously completely wrong in POST MORTEM (!) broadcasting bad and obviously completely untrue things about CAVALIERE ING. H.C. FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI:

"he (FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI) was actually a farmer..from a very poor family..he WAS used to go after the war..everywhere..STEALING..STEALING.."

    Reality is obviously different:

in English: The Lamborghini, owners of a farm of approximately 20 hectars...

in English: obtained a loan of ITL 10.000.000 from the local savings bank. This money, guaranteed by the paternal farm...

Note: ITL 10.000.000 in 1948 is equivalent value to Euro 3.000.000 to Euro 5.000.000 in 2013. This bank loan was only possible by the personal guarantee of the wealthy father ANTONIO LAMBORGHINI and LAMBORGHINI family.

LAMBORGHINI, Ferruccio in Dizionario Biografico ? Treccani

    LAMBORGHINI, Ferruccio
Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani - Volume 63 (2004)

    di Andrea Baravelli
LAMBORGHINI, Ferruccio.

    Andrea Baravelli
Lamborghini, Ferruccio. - He was born in Renazzo, fraction of Cento, near Ferrara, April 28 1916, by Antonio and Evelina Govoni.

The Lamborghini, owners of a 20 hectare estate, also worked hemp and traded in cattle. Eldest son of five children (Edmund, George, Maria, Silvio), L. very young age proved far more interested in the mechanics to agriculture.

After primary school, he attended the training institution Taddia, also starting to work as an apprentice, the blacksmith's shop G. Ferioli di Cento. In 1934 he found employment in Bologna, at the workshop Righi, for a salary of 15 pounds a week. At age 18, along with his friend M. Filippini, the L set up his own, opening a workshop in Renazzo. In 1939 he was called up and sent to Rhodes.

There he was assigned to the 50th joint maneuvering autoreparto, soon becoming indispensable for its ability to repair and retrofit the old-fashioned car park available. A Rhodes L. amassed very important experience in media recovery now coming to scrapping and met Clelia Monti, whom he married after the Liberation.

In the summer of 1946 he returned to Cento and opened with R. Govoni, a small workshop for mechanical repairs. In April 1947, his wife died giving birth to her son Antonio; at the end of that year the L. decided to take the big leap, turning from a mechanic in the constructor. The first step was the establishment of a company with three other mechanics. Thus he was born, with 2,000,000 lire capital, the Company Lamborghini Carassiti Monti Guazzaloca to build tractors.

Using engines and differentials abandoned trucks, sold at ARAR centers (alienation Recovery Company remnants), the four partners started to build the first Carioca tractors; to overcome the major problems related to the persistent shortage of gasoline, the L. devised a highly effective vaporizer, which, allowing the means of low gasoline to then operate in oil (through the preparation of two separate tanks, connected by a copper coil), allowed to limit the consumption; the first tractor produced by L. was presented on Feb. 2. 1948.

In that same 1948, L., released by the company, he worked for himself, taking four workers, he married Annita Fontana and participated in the fifteenth edition of the Mille Miglia, albeit unsuccessfully (destroyed the machine he modified). In October, then return from the trip wedding - which had allowed him to discover, in Portici, the existence of a large deposit of ARAR Morris engines, Perkins and Dodge -, obtained a loan of 10 million lire from local savings Bank. This money, guaranteed by the paternal farm, allowed him to buy, at the ARAR of Portici, a hundred diesel engines.

Within two years, the company's production passed by a tractor per week to about 200 per year, the workers climbed to 30 and new Italian-built engines replaced the old remnants of war.

With the increase in production was imposed the need for a workplace suitable: in spring 1951, the Law, in exchange for a Lamborghini tractor, acquired by B. Oppie, head of livestock sales for Ferrara Reclamation Company, a plot of land of 1000 m2 (in the years following this type of bartering would regulate every transaction aimed at expanding the plant). In February 1952 work began on the construction of the plant from which the first tractor 26 November 1956.

The company, which now had 50 workers, had in the meantime with a commercial network. In particular, in this area turned out the figure of C. Carpeggiani very important, sales manager for Germany, thanks to which it was entered into a major supply agreement with MWM in Mannheim: royalty the company in exchange for the un'irrisoria percent obtained in Italy to build the engine MWM, to plans and MWM license.

The promulgation of the Fanfani law of 25 July 1952 - which allocated, the interest of 3%, 125 billion in five years to farmers who had purchased domestically produced agricultural machinery - the company did make a further leap in quality. It was in that first five years of the fifties that the Lamborghini turned into industrial enterprise in effect, abandoning the artisanal dimension that still large tracts characterized it.

Were set up two assembly lines, it was strengthened commercial network of sellers and, with the assumption of Directors responsible for the different sectors, was completely reorganized the management structure. The company's strategy was articulated in those years, on the enhancement of three models: a two-cylinder engine with 25 horsepower, a three-cylinder with 37 horsepower and a four-cylinder engine with 50 hp. With these three versions of engines, Lamborghini would have created a range of fourteen tractors. Among the most innovative models produced in those years it is worth remembering, since 1957, the Lamborghinetta (equipped with a two-cylinder engine to 22 hp, heavy 10 tons and sold to a million) and Le Vigneron (a small tractor-twin 25 hp, 70 cm wide, designed for viticulture).

In the period 1968-69 the Lamborghini Tractors, following the significant increase in sales recorded, adopted a strategy to improve both the technical quality of tractors, both the production volume. Within a few months, to cope with a daily output of about 55 tractors, employees grew from 380 to nearly a thousand. The annual production then reached a record $ 8000/2 year. The crisis, however, came very fast, due to multiple causes.

There were unavoidable reasons (such as the cancellation of a major contract by the Bolivian government), but were structural factors being dominant. Among the latter, it must be remembered the credit squeeze implemented by banks as a result of the worsening of the economic crisis; Lamborghini, which for the heavy investments made was particularly exposed to the economic storm, was hard hit. Even the escalation of labor disputes contributed to exacerbate the malaise: the permanent conflict in the crisis began a mental habitus leadership paternalistic.

A partial solution was found with the sale of the Fiat stable, in spring 1971, and with the use of layoffs. Later, thanks to the newfound liquidity - obtained from tractor sales "Bolivians" and the majority shareholder of Lamborghini Cars - L. created in Pieve di Cento a more dynamic company, relieved by operating costs that had burdened Tractors di Cento. Despite the good results, however, the Lamborghini in 1973 was sold to competitor ever, the Same Bergamo.

The L. entrepreneurial story was not limited, however, to the production of tractors, but also identified with the construction of air conditioners, boilers and burners. Whereas the substantial increase in building national post-war (in Italy, at the end of the fifties, were built 400,000 rooms per year) they could not fail to accompany the introduction of the heating, L., in 1960, had decided to produce burners.

During that year, the engineer S. Venturi was commissioned to build a new factory in Pieve di Cento. By hiring the best technical market, the burners Lamborghini started its activities in 1961. In 1970 the Lamborghini Calor is transferred from Pieve di Cento in Dosso of Ferrara, in a more modern plant.

The L. passion was, however, the cars. Tradition has it that it was a spat with E. Ferrari to provide the decisive stimulus for him to experiment with the production of cars gran turismo. More realistically, it can be assumed that the decision has matured after considering the sums of money secured from the government sector, on the one hand, and after evaluating the publicity fallout that the automotive success would secure the entire group, on the other.

The first step was the preparation, in the course of 1962, of a thickness of great technical team. By G. Bizzarrini, designer of engines for Ferrari from 1957 to 1961, the L. obtained a twelve-cylinder engine capable of overcoming, by engine size and power output, the one produced by Ferrari; Then came other designers, such G.L. Old, Bevini A., G. Previti, P. Stanzani and especially G.P. Dallara. 22 feb. 1963 it was then bought for 10 million lire a plot of 20,000 m2 in Sant'Agata Bolognese, where, in five months, was completed a plant, which cost a billion, inaugurated on October 26 1963; parallel born the first car: the 350 GTV, with Bizzarrini engine and Fini and Bonacini frame, presented at the Turin Motor Show in November 1963, which was a failure; Also the car subsequently produced - the 350 GT - was not very lucky.

    L. was about to close the factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese when, in August 1965, Dallara, Bevini Old and presented him with the designs for an innovative car with rear engine. The body of the prototype - called P440 - was designed by M. Gandini, the designer who had replaced G. Giugiaro at Bertone. The new-built, named Miura (from the name of a Spanish breed of bulls), was exposed in the spring of 1966 at the Geneva Motor Show and, in the fall, to that of Paris. The public support was great and orders poured in.

The Miura, capable of reaching 280 km / h, was produced until 1973; They were therefore also presented the Espada (flagship four-seater) and Islero (coupe with a very clean line and traditional). For L., after the honorary degree, conferred by the University of Padua in 1968, came in 1969, the appointment as knight of the work.

In 1969, also was created, Funo di Bologna, Lamborghini Oleodinamica (whose direction L. entrusted to his son Antonio). That same year, however, the difficulties began also in the automotive industry. Despite the storms, the Jarama born in 1970, the Urraco and Jota; She was designed in 1971, by engineer Stanziani, the prototype of the Countach. The story of L. as a great industrial was, however, coming to an end. In 1973 G.-H. Rossetti, Swiss subagent of Lamborghini, acquired 51% of the company, paying 12 million Swiss francs; when, after a while, the L stood by Rossetti to buy back the majority stake, these re-launched with a 2 billion lire offered to buy the remaining 49%. Then the L. decided to bow out selling his stake to René Leimer. The last chance to regain possession of the Lamborghini car appeared in 1980, when, after a management commissioner and the use of controlled administration, the property was auctioned by the Bologna court: L. introduced himself as a buyer, but his offer was lower than that of Mimran society.

In 1987 ownership of Lamborghini Cars passed, for about 30 billion to Chrysler; Since 1991, the international automotive crisis involved the Lamborghini in a time when the major investments made they had drained the financial liquidity. Between late 1992 and early 1993 had, therefore, be re-adopted the layoffs.

After the loss of the company he created the L launched into a new business. In 1974 - the year of the divorce from Annita Fontana - bought, near Lake Trasimeno, in Panicarola in Stains, a farm of 70 hectares, La Fiorita, which became a leading-edge farm, capable of producing fine wines and undertake, among the first, the road of agritourism development.

    L. died in Perugia on 20 Febr. 1993.

Sources and Bibl .: Papers relating to the L. companies have been lost in the course of the various changes in ownership; biography can be rebuilt, however, through three monographs: the most recent, full of information, details and anecdotes is that of F. Borzicchi, The man who invented the Miura. Stories, myths and Italy curiosity F. L., Milan 2001; see also the volume dedicated to the life of the father of A. [Toni] Lamborghini, Honor thy father and mother. Story by F. I always thought FL originally green lit the Miura on the proviso that only 30 or so cars would be built to add prestige and exlusivity to the Lamborghini brand, therefore hopefully helping to sell more GT's in the process?
