Hi all, I can't seem to find any shop online that has that rear filter screen which is supposed to be changed or inspected when you change the engine oil... I plan to change the oil next week and would like to have it just in case the one in the car is bad (doubt it, it was serviced before sale but I don't trust dealers). Thanks for any pointers.
Get the oil Change kit for F430 from Ricambi including gaskets, and oil filter. I also recommend the oil filter changing tool that fits on the back of the filter for proper torqueing the filter and makes for easy removal and replacement. if the screen is not damaged, it is easily cleaned. There may be other suppliers. https://www.ricambiamerica.com/f430ock-f430-oil-change-kit.html https://www.ricambiamerica.com/oft-02-348-355-360-430-enzo-oil-filter-wrench.html https://www.ricambiamerica.com/f430ock-f430-oil-change-kit.html
The Ricambi oil change kit used to contain the screen and gaskets. For some reason it is not listed in the kit any longer . I would call them if you find that it needs replacement. Mine was easily cleaned but it was clean to begin with. The same with the transmission filter, easily cleaned. GL wi oil change.
The oil screen parts are: 1 X 207541 OIL SUMP O-RING 1 X 190183 OIL SUMP O-RING 1 X 122429 OIL SUMP MESH FILTER 1 X 185723 OIL SUMP FILTER CIRCLIP the basic oil change kit is 1 x 234742 OIL FILTER 1 X 10265060 LARGE COPPER CRUSH WASHER 2 X 10261860 SMALL COPPER CRUSH WASHERS We stopped including them in the kit because of all the complaints about (pick one): 'its too expensive!' 'that thing doesn't need to be replaced!' 'I only want the f^&ing filter, don't charge me for stuff I don't need' 'I hardly ever drive the car. I'm only changing the oil because it's been 3 years since the last change'
Thank you for the feedback. I did not find it at Ricambi either... kept looking under every stone and rock on the internet I might just take the chance and open her up and see the condition, maybe it can go another oil change with a clean; change it next time. I do have the Oil filter with 4 copper crush washers and the filter wrench incoming on Monday . I am changing the gearbox oil too, bought 3 L of Valvoline 75w-90; I thought might as well since I have the bottom panels/diffuser off ...
I tried to call you to order it, but you are gone for the week... Can I still order it from you on Monday ? Mesh filter and associated orings, circlip? I already bought the oil filter.. Thank you!
Thank you very much for providing those part numbers; I was able to find them one by one and add them to the cart, ordered and paid! Love this Forum
when changing the gearbox oil it is suggested to clean the filter cuz that gets a lot of stuff on it Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Definitely pull the filter screen and look at it. Mine had a bunch of white silicone scattered across it. Probably from assembly, which means it was never removed and checked prior to me buying the car with 13,000 miles on it. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
On the gearbox oil filter / screen - don't forget to buy the o-ring .. i would hate for you to pull screen and find out that you cannot reuse the o-ring... also why take a chance with old o-ring - also use a little o-ring lube to insert screen tube back (if you don't have o-ring lube use k-y or similar)
Here is what the parts look like at 30k miles. Thank you ricambi. I’ll be doing these every 10k miles from now They were so brittle and not good Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Thank you @goto35march for that eye opener! my car has 38k miles, just got it and am going to order these to be on the safe side. @Ricambi America , I tried to order your F430ock/g kit for the gearbox, but nothing comes up on your website other than the pic and description. Do you have the part numbers for these? Looks like a filter, an o-ring, a plug and 2 washers. Thanks again
Use the numbers provided initially by Ricambi in post above, I found them and bought them: The oil screen parts are: 1 X 207541 OIL SUMP O-RING 1 X 190183 OIL SUMP O-RING 1 X 122429 OIL SUMP MESH FILTER 1 X 185723 OIL SUMP FILTER CIRCLIP Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you @Mario Andretti , I got those (engine oil), I am looking for the gearbox filter, washer, ring, plug. The part number for those, do not yield results on the Ricambi site.
I was planning to clean that one.. It does not seem to hard to take out, and most likely it is not damaged. but yeah, good idea to have in hand just in case. Cheers
hear ya. I know its a bit extra cost. but I got mine with 36.5k miles on it and no service history, so will put in fresh oil and gear screens and then at least I know what I'm dealing with going forward.
Here’s why it’s a good idea to periodically change the gearbox filter screen. I’m sure it could be cleaned up, but cheap and easy enough to replace. This was at 24k miles, and may have been the original filter. Image Unavailable, Please Login
