Find something that you do well(make sure it has potential), learn to do it better than anyone else and the rest will come. While you're at it don't listen to the a-holes and dream stealers out there. Good luck and get started now. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

PS- there's no free ride :)

Focus on your studies and work hard, and set very high but realistic goals for your life. There are no shortcuts.

I have no doubt that if you take the above advice you will find yourself where you want to be one day! :)

Its rather easy to answer, work 60~80 hours a week for a few decades. Make it a point to live below your means, investing the residual income wisely. After 20+ years of killing yourself and living meagerly you should hopefully have a nice nestegg. Dependent on your family/child situation, you may find yourself having enough money to purchase such an automobile. Many of the people here purchased their vehicles used, letting others absorb the intial depreciation. Of course there are exceptions to the above, but it appears to me from the threads here my summary is pretty accurate. While you are contemplating how to spend your first million, perhaps you should get a P/T job at McDonald's.

Thanks, I'd like to get started now and buy an old piece of junk car and fix it up and sell it for a bit higher to make enough money to buy 2 junk boxes and sell them for higher and buy an alright car, sell it for higher...etc I'd like to name it from my last name, ''(last name) automobile''. Hopefully one day it will happen.

Thanks to all who have posted helping me out, I'll read each and everyone's posts, thanks again!

I invested wisely in stamps years ago from my trust fund which is now worth 10% of its value, then decided what the hell might as well blow it all and bought some Ferraris to finish it off.

Welcome guy. Just go to a good college and work hard and you'll be set. I am always trying get rich quick schemes but they never work - probably because I don't really care about the schemes themselves, only the rewards. I will keep trying them and maybe one will work but at the same time I am concentrating on school so that I do well and I'm positive that eventually I will be making big bucks working hard at something I enjoy like most of the other guys on here are. Besides I'd rather do that anyway, it's more respectable. I only want to get rich quick and early to make financing school and stuff easier on myself and my parents... I will tell you and others will tell you that the car SHOULD COME LAST on your priorities. It will come eventually :D Good luck

I have 7 cars, four German, two Italian and one British. How do I do it? I am single, that's how.

This way if I ever get married, she can't say a word about the driveway. It was there before she was.

Work your arse off and get an education. Make great grades and go to professional school. There are other ways to make money, but generally the commitment to a professional degree will pay dividends more often than not. It may not be the quick easy route, but it can be the guarenteed route to accomplishing one's aspirations and dreams. My taste for expensive cars drove me to obtain a professional degree and an MBA. The hard work and time spent in school will pay dividends and open doors. There are no guarentees in life, but a professional degree may or can be as close to a guarentee as it gets. The degree will open the doors and your talent and drive will provide you with the means to excell in your field.

I'm getting sick of telling this story, but in your case, here you go.

I inheirited a cod farm from my uncle Joe. We mash up all the unusable parts of the cod (eyes, rectrum, etc) and make spread for sandwiches. Usually it doesn't taste very good, but with the addition of a little salt, plain yogurt and some vinegar, we had a winner on our hands. I paid cash (rolls of quarters!) for my first Ferrari, a 390CS, when I was 19. After a while, I bought an island for myself and this three dollar hooker I picked up in San Jose and started my own country called Freedonia. We now have three generations of inbred children. I have a long gray beard, have stopped wearing pants and talk to coconuts like they are real people.

Selling yourself to women is not a bad idea. Im reminded of a quote by the famous Quadmire, "Fat chicks need lovin' too...but they gotta pay."

Here´s my story: when I was 12, I watched "Magnum P.I." and more or less fell in love with the 308 GTS. Later that year, I was in Monte Carlo and I saw two 308´s paked next to eachother. That´s it ! That is the goal of my life I said to my parents. -Well, if you want it, and if you can dream it, -you can do it they said. But we´re not gonna pay for it.
OK, I started saving a few coins here and there. Started to deliver commercial flyers in the neighbourhood etc. Basically anything a kid was allowed to do in terms of light work. When I was 16 I founded a small firm (myself and a friend), doing the layout, printing and distributing these flyers. I also did some office cleaning after school.
Several years later, I met the girl who later became my wife. When we moved together I had a confession to make: I told here that "I have one big dream, and just so that you know, ever since that day in Monte Carlo, I have been saving EVERY month for that car, and one day I will get it".
She said something like my paretns once did: yeh yeh, you are probably a bit crazy, but I still love you....." Later, we made a deal: first we finish renovating the house we just bought, then we go for the car.
One thing lead to another and one day I went and bought it, but it turned out to be a 328 GTS.
Oh, that´s also a story to tell. I contacted several dealers, but only one showed an interest. He asked me if it really was a 308 I wanted ? I said -ooohhh...? what do you mean ? Well, you should at least try a couple of different models before deciding, so why don´t you come here and we will go through it with you :) That was one of the best day in my life, almost as good as becomming a father (twice).
When I came there, they were all lined up for me, and I tried 308, 328, 348, 355, Testarossa and some others including Maserati 3200.
I came home with a 328 GTS, which I kept for almost 6 years. I just sold it and bought a 550 Maranello -00.

Someone asked me this summer (he was about your age, 16-18) how I could afford it, and I told this story.
I also said that usually, when having a car, the biggest cost is NOT service, maintenance, insurance. It is the depreciation.
A 2:nd hand, couple of years old Ferrari keeps its value quite well. At least compared with other similar cars, like the 911, or "standard" cars like M3 etc.
He smiled and said, after inhaling a 3:rd time on his cig. "well, you certainly are an eager beaver".
-I said one thing more: I don´t smoke. He looked at me and said, what´s that got to do with it ?
I asked, how many packs of cigarettes a day do you smoke ?
    -About 1 1/2 he answered.
    Well, I am about 20 years older than you. One pack here in Sweden cost 40 SEK. That´s 60 SEK a day (8 Dollars a day) x 365 = 2.950 $ / year x 20 years = 58.000 $ (not calculating with inflation, interest rate etc.
So, in 20 years, you have smoked a 328 GTS.....!
Including interest, infaltion etc. you have probably smoked a 360....!
    He smiled.

I don´t want to point fingers to anyone, but the bottom line is: It is all up to you. You don´t have to win on lottery, you don´t have to start a booming company to afford a Ferrari (but it helps). You CAN actually get it, still being a normal guy with a fixed target :)

Once again: that moment when I turned on the ignition, reved it up, put her in first gear and drove out of the dealership, that was the second best day of my life ! -And I still ware that smile (attached).

Go for it ! You wont regret it.

I would say you should direct your life professionally toward a higher earning profession and see how good you can be at it. As an architect, you typically cannot afford a new Ferrari. In fact, you typically could afford maybe around a $40k car. But if you also network yourself to be part of a more prosperous crowd in a very prosperous region of the country, you can easily make much more money. Being in a good profession is only about 1/4 of the formula. Knowing people willing to pay you enough and being smart with your money are also keys to getting where you want to go. I am not wealthy but have managed to get a nice 348.

Oh, and one other thing. Be self employed. Then driving the Ferrari on fair weather days is up to you, not your 'boss'.
