So I make an appointment and show up early one morning to drop off the Maserati for some service work. I toss the keys over and bolt for the espresso machine upstairs. But....the milk dispensing unit is faulty (or there is no milk in there at 8am, the horror). What a way to start the relationship ! I am so steamed that I am ready to write my complaint letter to FNA and resort to profanities right then and there ! (see LV thread)
Seriously, I was blown away and it was a great first experience. Vince (of Nascar tema fame, btw) could not be a nicer guy. He took my info, explained the procedure, communicated status throughout, and most importantly, my rattle from hell is gone. This was a third attempt to exorcise it, but the first two were somewhere else. It turned out to be loose cat matter (a tabby got sucked in when Dan made me park in a back alley once when I was following his 550). I am no longer getting these weird looks at a stoplight. My exotic no longer rattles like a 20 year old Renault Alliance. They also checked into recall / service campaigns and adjusted the parking brake that held only on the last click.
When I peaked, the service bay was already humming and the mechanics (sorry, service techs) were all wearing cool black SV Ferrari T-shirts. I got nowhere with them when I tried to get the 360 CS to be my loaner.
I also met Chris, the sales manager, and he did not laugh when I said I was going to trade in the Maser for a 360 when the warranty expires in Dec of 2006. We also had a nice chat about vintage Ferraris after I told him about my 250. I did not get thrown out (see LV thread again), and he spent 10 minutes chatting about things dear to a gearhead while my kids ran around and my wife chased them around the showroom floor (no worries, they are trained to look, but not touch after 4 years of car shows). I did NOT ask to be put on a 430 list.
The car was washed and I even think they put a full tank of gas in it. Just do not quote me on that last one ("But, but....Luke got a tank, how come I don't").
And did I mention that dealership is only 15 minutes away from the house? I really liked the guys up North (their 04 Maser CC loaner policy in particular), but 70 minutes to get there was getting old. Also, for some reason, I would actually get lost every other time, taking the earlier Sir Francis Drake exit.
So....go forth enthusiasts. I had my first service. Those guys have some tools, some talent, and a nice customer service attitude. Gotta put some milk in, though.....BYOM does not cut it with the spoiled Silicon Valley crowd.

The espresso thing shouldn't be that big a deal, are you sure it's not your addiction? Remember the first step to stop the denial and admit it :D

In all seriousness, I've looked at other messageboards and I've read a lot of lookers just roam the area without confronting anybody. I think this is because it's new, was on the news and people just want to take a peek. I know I do, where the heck is it? I was down on Woodside going to Menlo Park last month and I totally missed it!

BTW, did you get a loaner from FoSV?

It is just south of 84/Woodside, just past El Camino. Look for a video porn establishment on the other side.
No, they are not set up for loaners yet. Since it was so close to my work/house, it was not an issue. I do not think it is walking distance to the Caltrain...
I will probably go back for lunch, once they open the bistro. One of those hot grilled panini would be very nice. I miss them after my summer of study in Milan...

Luke, my car went in for some minor stuff that I wanted to get taken care of before shipping the car to Magnum PI land. Agree, Vince was very cool, even keel type of guy at 8 in the morning. My 3-year old was looking at the cars in the bays, no worries that early in the morning. Henry the parts guy was cool too. i did not have time to go and give the espresso machine the 3rd degree, but the jury is still out on service since my car is still there. Seems that there was a small computer glitch on there machines and so they could not analyze an electrical bug for me today. Hmmm.....

I'm gonna ask for a full tank of gas. j/k
