I am not really sure why so many are posting that video of the MkII as a reference to how one should sound. That car has a dead cylinder and sounds like ****. The fact that Road & Track used that example is ridiculous.

Here is what both a MkI 289 and a MkII FE should sound like

I hope they do. I bought a new 2005 FGT and I loved the car. I sold it last year. These are great cars fun to drive and reliable.

I would buy a new updated model if Ford offers one depending on cost.

Anyone have thoughts on cost? I saw a posting on another board said initial rumors were it would be north of $400k MSRP but haven't seen that published anywhere...

Market is still going up and strong on these, 2 just sold on mecum today. $300k plus fees, $335k plus fees. As many have been discussing, if a new FGT is built it wont be like the 2005-06 models. Some even say it might be the eco boost V6 as ford is using that engine in racing right now. We will just have to wait and see for the Jan 2015 auto show announcement supposedly.

I really hope the FGT price rise isn't going to cause nonsensical prices and dealer mark-ups for the next one.

Me, too, but history is not on our side. Hopefully, the success of the first one will encourage Ford to make enough of the next ones so that they will sell for at least close to MSRP.
