Wondering if anyone can provide a reason why the lads in Maranello placed fuse boxes in Ferrari’s in locations that require disassembling the car to access?

Ferraris never have electrical problems? :p

In theory, my F355 fuseboxes only require either undoing some knurled knobs (front luggage compartment) or some dzus fasteners (passenger footwell). The passenger footwell cover on my car, however, won't fold down without also unbolting the hinge.

To keep out the riff raff?

IMO Ferrari and similar high end companies tend to design everything around the notion that the car needs to go to a dealer/specialist for work of any kind.

To some extent, I agree. I have a brand new BMW and that is not the case. But the BMW may not be high end enough.
What is amusing is, for example, the owners manual for the 488 lists the fuses, their circuits, and the fuse ratings. But, for example, fail to mention that if the cigarette lighter fuse blows, you need to remove a lot of door trim and an interior panel to check it.
