    Deep spoiler was an option in all markets, not just Europe, and shallow (like GV's car) was standard equipment. There are a few nuances across the years, like fiberglass vs steel, but that's the gist of it.

    I have read a similar article written by Jody Scheckter when he used to have a regular column at Car and Driver in the 80's. In Scheckter's account Gilles would smoke the tires of his 308 when he'd reverse into a parking slot in Fiorano.
