Congratulations Roy. When this is all done, please send copies of the police paperwork to the dealers licensing agency in Austin and any other authority to put these people out of business for good.

If the buyer really was good, he might want to complete the sale with the real owner

Roy, glad to hear the car has been recovered. This is truly amazing that a board member was instrumental with it's recovery. I think you owe Daniel a beer and thick juicy steak!!! This just says don't **** with Fchat.

Only problem with that is now it will cost him 375k instead of 300. Hope he gets his money before they blow through it unless he was part of this somehow.

Roy, congratulations on the best possible outcome in terms of recovering your car - I just hope that there was no major damage done to it. Now it's just a matter of seeing what will happen to Global Motorcars.

Wow, awesome news Roy but I feel for the guy that dropped the $75k.

Just curious, maybe someone here will know the answer, but as a buyer, is there a way to give guaranteed funds to a dealer while also having a way out if it's a scam? I did a wire transfer when I bought my G and I'm not sure if I had been ripped off if Bank of America would say okay, here's your money back. :) Or is it just a matter of ensuring you use someone with a great reputation and check them out thoroughly before taking a chance?

Wow. What a story. I got wind of this thread on Elisetalk.com. You really DO have to be careful in this business (of exotic cars), eh?

Good for you, Roy. You are one of the good guys. And, the power of internet groups like this is once again proven. Awesome.

Glad to hear your car was found, hope it is in good condition.

Does anyone know if the buyer was someone of fame (like a ball player)?

If so, this will probably make the news and make it that much harder for these guys to get away.

Roy glad you got the car back and good job Daniel. Thanks to the internet and this site you received a lot of help and support. I'll bet that 10 or so years ago the ***** at Global would of been right when he told you that the car would not be found. Houston is a really big city. I am surprised it was found now. I am sure that there will be .....the rest of the story. Keep us posted.

Great news, Roy! And kudos to Daniel. Hope it all continues to work out for you. Hmmmmmm...does this mean that Daniel may be attending a famous "Roy" party in Las Vegas?

Terrific bunch of members on here.

    Roy,

If the guys at the dealership offer to pay you for the car, which would probably make the whole thing blow over as a "misunderstanding", you should tell them the car is NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR SALE TO THEM, forcing the situation that they sold a stolen car, which is a felony.

Also, as others suggested, the new owner is obviously into the car and has the funds (most likely) to buy it - if he is still interested, Roy could sell the car back to him again for Roy's fair market price (probably less than the other dealer sold it to the guy for), and the guy would then sue Global for the $75k.

I realize the guy may not be in the mood after spending $75k on the car, but either way the guy is out $75k... the only remaininy question is does he also get the white Murcie or not?

Guys at Global are dumb dumb dumb. Most likely they had the buyer semi-lined up, wanted to flip the car on Roy's dime, not their own. Buyer was probably late coming up with the $$, and they BSed Roy about it. Stupid mistake now costs them a criminal lawsuit and potential jail time. All for what reason? Because they didn't want to be straight with Roy? Just answer the phone and tell him you need a few days to pay - if he says no way, send the car back and at least you didn't commit a crime. If he says OK, count your lucky stars that he's as accomodating as he is.

Glad you got the car back Roy - hopefully it was treated well and you don't end up losing any $$ over it.

Ummmmmm......Roy........not to throw cold water...but the typical HPD Certified impound lot is NOT a pretty place....wrecks......abandoned cars....bullet proof glass and attitude.

Surely a car of this magnitude was taken to the police lot, downtown on Houston Ave, by the HPD Shop?

Clarify this ASAP, and let me know first thing AM if I need to do anything....
