Hi all. Ive been out of the NSW Club for a while. Need some advice if anyone can help. Has anybody been to the Goodwood festival of speed or Goodwood revival. Ive always wanted to go and as travel opens up we are investigating is it possible to go in 2022 and if we could what are the best days or must sees. The historic racing is what Im keen on. Thought I would ask u guys. Im sure somebody will have been. Isle of Man TT is another "bucket list". Any help appreciated. Chris

No mate. Sold it a while back. Needed to finish the house. I have become a tragic 458 admirer and would like to think (hope) I might be able to put that together in the not too distant future. I have watched every You Tube post about them...its pathetic really. It would have to be the right car and the good ones probably are scarce. Have you seen how expensive they are !!! I havent been to any NSW club events as I dont have a car so doesnt seem much point. Ive thought about going to watch a track day but it wouldnt be the same as Im sure you can understand. How are u going. Do u still have the 355 and the 308Q.

My ex wouldn't let me keep both and as you know I had it set up finally as a half decent track/road car so made me sad to see it go

I'm going to see the 296 tomorrow night as I'm thinking it's time to move onto some faster car that I can make slow :p

G'day Chris, without knowing how old you are...I'm younger than Millard!....could have some bearing on which of the two(or both!) would suit you.

Some of us here have done the Revival and it is second to none in every aspect of period motorsport.....except for the public food...it's shoit!

The classic car park alone, yes there is one for proper cars and bikes and one for the modern crap, can take you a couple of hours.

It goes for 3 days and is well worth doing the whole lot.

If you can get a pitpass then you'll be on cloud nine.

If you would like I can post a mob of pics from 2010.

Some of us have worked for a living mate but drugs would have made it easier :p

I don't have to sell the 355 but it would make the buy of the 296 easier :)

If I was a pilot or old money it'd be a no brainer but I have to juggle money to buy such items .... how lucky are we to live in a country where a poor boy from the western suburbs can contemplate buying such an extravagance ? :)

Isle of Man TT, Goodwood FOS and Le Mans are all on at the same time. One trip I did FOS and LM as they were a week apart, but the TT clashed. Never been to the Revival, but it would be the pick of the lot of them. At FOS, the cars are all very accessible in the pits, and it's a very informal atmosphere. The trade displays were terrific the last time I was there (on my honeymoon - the bride still complains about it).

No such thing. She was a bit upset at the Lotus factory tour, the Aston Martin factory tour, shopping at Tony Thompson Racing and Kelvedon Lotus, and then the FOS.

Topher, I've been to the Revival 3 times, and this year we shipped my car over and we competed in the Festival of Speed. In my opinion the Revival is the best event of the 3. I was told that this years FoS was down in numbers, so there were a lot of exhibition runs (untimed). I think you get a better experience, and more cars to see, at the Revival but you need to make sure you get a Paddock pass and a grandstand seat.
