Hi kids ! Our member Greg23, who already owns a very serious F stable, has recently published two pictures on his instagram account, showing his new Ferrari, under an "Atelier" cover, about wich he said "It's a V12, It's not a Laferrari, it's not a V8, and not a 488 body" The forum is losing itself in hypotheses, I personally feel extremely excited since I have no clue what it could be. The debate started in the Laferrari APERTA thread, in wich Greg just replied, confirming what he said on instagram, and promising some more pictures to come. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/145120217-post297.html So dear Greg, this thread is the home of that freakin' monster, we are waiting for more details and pictures !
The (position of the) windscreen wiper (clearly visible) points in the direction of a rebodied LaFerrari. A rebodied LaF without KERS, perhaps?
It would have been useful merging related posts into this thread, otherwise we will have to repeat a lot of what was already discussed... Anyway: - Not a LaF confirmed by owner - Not a 488 confirmed by owner - V12 confirmed by owner. - Not a LaF one-off or rebodied LaF over LaF chassis because proportions/shapes don't match. Not a Laperta, obviously. - Side profile and rear spoiler and lights match the shape of the 458 Speciale, not any other car. Front matches 458/488 with probably different hood vents. So best guess for now is a 458 Speciale or 458 Speciale based one-off with a V12 engine.
The silhouette looks very much like 488 front, 458 side and rear. The roof line does not look like that on the 458/488 spider. I think ttforcefed and Garetto are on to something, but Jeronimo GTO rightly points out the 458 is not homologated with a V12 engine. What if its a 488 Chassis with some improvements from the 488 VS (Speciale or whatever) but with some design elements from the 458 and 488 and with a V12 motor? And what if they might do a few of these cars, all slightly different but all with the V12 and thus enough to justify some kind of homologation? I would hope if its a V12 then its the motor from the TDF!
I assume this is a one off and not another limited car? Assuming this to be the case, how could anyone justify the expense of homologation let alone actual R&D? Could this be the LF design study held back that we hear about?
That's also a possibility. I remember that in one of the pre-LaFerrari threads - a few years ago, admittedly - a forum member (who seemed to have quite some "inside" on the subject) hinted at a non-KERS and lighter/more compact LaFerrari (because it could do without all the electronic wizardry?). This car would be produced in very limited numbers. This was before the LaFerrari as we know it was presented to the public. Maybe this car builds on this idea and is basically a non-KERS LaFerrari with the same chassis, different body... and a different name. The remark of the impossibility of a V12-engined 458 due to homologation issues was made by Traveller before me in another thread; I only re-posted his idea here.
This is what I think as a real possibility as by removing the hybrid nonsense, I assume homologation would not be an issue.
i don't get why people keep posting comments saying it is an j50. the owner of this special car has stated that it has a v12. and they look nothing alike. anyone who has some common sense and visual awareness would not make such mistake. when i said it could be a sp lafe without kesr it means the style of the car in the other thread would be totally different. for example the front overhang of lafe was condemned by a lot of people from the beginning and i can see owners wanting to get one with shorter overhang. as far as i remember the chassis of lafe is at least loosely based on the 458's and i can't see how it will be difficult to put a 458/488-like exterior onto the lafe chassis.
Absolutely not ! Didi you see the side picture ? it's mid engine car, and the F12 SP275 RW Competizione is a one off belonging to Dr. Rick Workman (Hence the "RW") The J50 has a V8.
V12 in a 488? Sounds like a modern day testarossa. I've been saying for years that we need one! Can't wait to see it. Keep us posted!
i believe it is the only pininfinina's scale model out of all 9. imo the ugliest of all but i guess beauty is subjective.
