Wow thats pretty scary. We have to be careful about bad mouthing a service business because the "good old boys" network might put the screws to us. How absurd. I thought money talks.
hey guys i live in AZ... im currently rebuilding a Jalpa and will be using bill quite a bit. I met one of AZs best ferrari techs this week (have been loose acquaintinces with him for a while) and he told me about bill and his demenor... Sounds like a passionate guy... take that as you will... Maybe i can help some of you guys out and try to run down there and get parts for you and ship them to you. I can run down there on my days off (im sure i will be down there enough finding parts for this jalpa) I don't know its an idea. There are some logistical problems such as payment, and you guys trusting me but im just trying to think of something to help out. anyways... good luck guys
Well, I didn't mean to start a riot. I was more like trying to find out if they had closed like for vacation or maybe everyone was sick with the flu. I guess my title was a little misleading. I usually have very good service from them. There have been times when either one of them were a bit short but I think that we all get like that sometimes. And yes, a few items that I received I have been disappointed in but I look at it as a chance you take on certain things and learn from the experience. I have a hose catalog with pictures and deminsions and I am able to get some hoses locally that work great. But this top hose that has 2 different diameters on the ends is not one of them. So I'll continue my search Monday. Thanks for the info.
I ordered a couple gaskets and an upper oil line from them for my 308QV couple years ago. The oil line was definitely a cheap replica and it didn't fit at all. The bends were 15 degrees or more off. I had to rework it to make it fit. And the bango didn't seal because it had a poor finish (compared to the OEM one I took off that had a clean smooth finish). And the gaskets were also not OEM. I think Dave told me they make their own gaskets and have their own dies to cut them with. That explains why the hole pattern didn't line up The reason their prices are great is because it's aftermarket parts made in what country ??? ___but the parts were definitely not OEM nor well made knock offs. The money you save you waste back in time 4 fold. Just my 2 cents.
Hey guys…. A few years ago, I’ve used GT Car Parts, and I received okay service from them. I know getting parts for my ageing 308 QV is getting quite difficult to find and if you find the part(s) you need, then prepare to get screwed for them. So far, all the part vendors I’ve seen, including T Rutlands are way over priced in my opinion. The way these guys think is “If you own a Ferrari” then they know you will pay for the part + the 600% profit for it and that's 100% pure greed and that’s jacked up. I believe if you sell parts at a reasonable price with a little profit of course, then you will sell more of them, which is “Business 101”. Well anyway, here’s another over priced vendor that you can add to the list, which you can try this guy in Oregon (www.italiancarparts.com)
Agree, was ordering parts for my BB often SOP, the woman is worthless also says she'll have them call me back and never has this has happened many times, Bill told me once how he was doing me a great favor selling me BB parts, the same parts I could get from Rutlands for the same price, the only reason I was ordering from them was UPS was 1 day from where I live. I will never use them again and BTW most parts are not OEM but at best adequate replacements. Can't believe they are still in business
