A sunroof GT4, you can have a good dose of the advantages of both the GTB & GTS. And no stowed roof panel to push the seat forward. Of course, if the drain hoses (6) are not functioning, the sunroof simulates a leaky GTS. ;)

I had a hard time deceiding when I bought my GTS. The GTB is more solid and stiff but I like the removable top. Now, if they had the side louvers on the GTB go the full lenght of the rear window iI would like the GTB much better.

I prefer the looks (and stifness) of the GTB, but prefer the open top of the GTS. But then again I'd take a GTO over either of these. Here's my creation 308 GTS/B/O

I'm going to have to go with the GTB, even after living in Southern California for thirteen years I'm really not much of an open-top car guy. The lines look so much better on the GTB, imo.

GTS makes too much noise for me, but for open air, going to spyder is preferred over GTS. Also, I had to avoid TX storms for GTS to avoid the leak. Sealing for 328 wasn't that good.

GTB is better for driving & appearance IMO.

The only time the top goes on is when the car gets washed.

I previously owned a 308 GTB and GTSi at the same time. See my profile for a picture of both (that's not me next to the GTB).

The GTB is a better track car, and the Euro GTB is even better. The GTSi is about 70kg heavier than an equivalent GTBi, and a euro GTB is about 100kg lighter than a U.S. GTB.

The GTSi is a better car to be seen in, and I really like having the top out. However, the GTSi sucks in the rain, even with substantial effort to correct the leaks. Yes, I frequently drove both in the rain. As an aside, the handling of both my 308's was great in the rain.

The GTB's A/C seemed to be more effective on hot days, perhaps due to the insulation (or lack of insulation) in the GTSi roof. However, the 308's A/C sucks by modern standards (GTB or GTS).

The GTB's windows always worked better than the GTSi. Having a full sash around the window, it just seemed to glide better. Both cars had new felt, and rebuilt drive gear.

There was more headroom in the GTB. The GTSi with the roof behind the seats has substantially less leg room. When I was 25, that was OK, but now it's not so wonderful (now 42).

Yeah, that's me, a hairdresser. Glad I could care less about stereotypes.......................

I am 6'2" and for extra leg room I place the top behind the seats with the "interior" side of the top facing FORWARD (latches down). The "exterior" side is against the aft firewall. I then slide the top sideways to the drivers side slightly so the back of the seat doesn't hit the forward facing lip along the vertical edge of the top. With this set up I can move the seat back far enough that I can't touch the steering wheel (time for a spacer).

The chassis flexes and the top squeeks once in a while on choppy roads but that won't stop me from having another open car. Cruizing on a spring morning through the foothill forests of the Cascade Mountains with the top off more than makes up for the short comings of the GTS.

If I want a stiff car I'll get a track car with a full cage.

GTS, no contest. Especially in the 308/328 series, the metal roof looks like more of an afterthought than the targa, maybe because it's rarer.

One of the few female car nuts that I know once said that when it comes to cars that you'd actually drive on public roads, she divides the entire automotive world into two categories: convertibles, and everything else.

Maybe I'm biased, living in San Diego, but open air driving is one of the main things that keeps me writing checks for second and third cars. You get to savor more of the mechanical sounds and you have amazing views (out here) of the mountains and scenery. The slight performance sacrifice is worth it. Even a soul-less car like the Lexus SC is tolerable (but not exactly thrilling) with the top stowed.

If I tracked my car, I might go for the GTB. Otherwise, GTS.

I think you have reinforced Mr Shaunessey's point! Perhaps he should have said GTS's are for hairdressesrs and their clients.

... she has fantastic hair. And most importantly, she probably wouldn't date a GTB guy. ;-)
