UroTrash: If you come to SD to see it please call me, I'll buy drinks to celebrate another classic owner, we can discuss DWho and his foibles..... Also be glad to look at it for you. Gary is my mechanic and he will give you a complete report. This is a long time favorite of mine, it looks good in red too. Malcolm Barksdale
You are very kind! the car should be there Monday AM for the PPI. If you could see it that would be great. Mr. Noon said he might send it over sooner, like maybe saturday, depending on when they could get the roll-back to load it. It would be nice to get a 3rd party opinion. If you see it a PM would be appreciated.
I do like the Sebring and the Mexico, in particular, but I already own a vintage V12 Ferrari. So I got the new one: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35192 BTW. If you recall, your new screen name was my idea. I never called in the favor, but I am gonna now: You gotta remove those shields from the flanks of the GTC right after you take delivery. I hope they are not a permanent mount ceramic ones...
Congratulations! Red's really not so bad on the GTCs, but you do have to lose the shields, of course.
I've got to agree w/ Luke. They don't look right on that car. The good news is they are the resin-stick on kind. Congrats Dr Trash! It's about damn time!
Make sure to ask Gary about the hoses in the motor. The black fuel hoses are a suitable replacement, but that green garden hose . . . maybe you can have that fixed prior to sale. Seriously, you'll love it! Congratulations! Even with the recent rise in prices, IMHO, these remain bargains - they are among the funnest, most useable vintage Ferrari's made, I feel.
Thank you for all your interest. For the moment please hold off on contacting me privately about this car. We are not taking anymore "back-up" positions on the vehicle at this time. It was picked up yesterday for the PPI which will be done early next week. If the car is still available next week I will post a note to that affect for all interested parties. Regards, Bill Noon
what's wrong with the garden hose? To make it homey, I was thinking of some geraniums under the hood so I'll need a sprinkler. As far as the Scuderia shields, I think they will look nice with the 22 dubs and spinners I plan to install. So far, I see as incorrect: Fuel hoses Garden hose absence of back up lights crooked right rear bumper shift knob seat belts scuderia shields battery luggage straps not right red color all tools wrong brake fluid reservior wrong tires
Seeing that I live in San Diego, I will gladly deliver the car to you. I'll make sure it is a good driver by the time it gets to you. Erich can you say "ROADTRIP!" ?
Ferraris are supposed to be red, its what Enzo wanted and it really looks great on this car. Red looks very different under various light settings it's the best color. Can't blame you on the rust issue on the other car, hopefully this one is okay, a little surface rust can be expected on frame parts and is okay as long as its brushed off easily and not eaten away the metal.Rust is the worst thing on a classic car everything else, paint, mechanical and electrical can be fixed as long as not too many of the wrong hands have been in the car. You'll be a changed man once you get your Ferrari, it's nice to have a good hobby.
Now it's time for your homework assignment. Go here, download your manual, study, study, study, there will be a quiz on Monday. http://www.pennphoto.com/pages/dave/MUM_365GtcGts330Gtc.pdf Congrats in advance, welcome to vintage. You're going to love it here. Dave
I think the car is GORGEOUS. All these people that are like, "change this, change that" SCREW them! This will be a BEAUTIFUL car if you get it. Congrats!
Once you get a serial number, you can sign up at owners.ferrari.com. They have an archive of owner's manuals and such...
Yup. Figured since you were practically an owner, it wouldn't hurt to post up the manual for you outside of the Ferrari website. Dave
Uro: I've been aware of your vintage search through fchat and Tom Yang's board. The Symbolic GTC looks like a great find---congrats and enjoy it! In 2-year retrospect, my 330 2+2 has been mostly an excellent experience with just a bit of frustration thrown in. Also, you are up on the Vintage V12 food chain--you will be well received at Ferrari events. I've found a lot more appreciation for my car at the local hot rod drive-in and the auto parts store than at exotic/classic meets.
Uro - Does this mean we can finally see your mug in at local FCA events? You're just in time for the end-of-year deal in Pinehurst/Chapel Hill. Get thy Ferrari on thee truck ! -Daniel
I hope so. I've had one F-Chatter predict, or at least hint, that it might fail its mechanical PPI. I'd be gutted if that happens.
