Thanks. I learned a lot. I have no suggestions, as I am blessed with a cast iron stomach (so far). My interest lies in the fact that the ladies of the house - wife & mother-in-law - have GERD, the MIL particularly bad, so I am on look out for recipe ideas...T

Here's one I can't believe no one's mentioned, not exactly a recipe. Don't feel like cooking, pick up a rotisserie chicken from the store.

Mix in with your veggies and you're good for the week.

Jason....don't ya worry that those store-bought rotisserie chickens area tad too salty? I do. Then again, I agree, they're easy & tasty!....T

Ok, wife and I do soup every Monday we're in town. This is my go to easy recipe. Chop up three carrots, two celery ribs, half onion, tbs garlic powder, fresh cracked pepper. Sweat veggies. Add about two quarts water. Add tsp-tbs tomato paste, as desired. Add a lean protein - chicken or a white fish, our faves. Add rice or pasta. Simmer about an hour or so. Stays good for a few days. Reheat when ready.

Not really. I don't really salt anything so it's not an issue for me. And if it doesn't taste salty then it's a non issue because I'm very sensitive to salt.

With that said, I don't actually think it's any easier than baking chicken really. I say this because I tore all the chicken from the bone and weighed the amounts into my bowls for the week.

Slow cook a fat fillet of halibut so you don't have to pay attention much to how long it cooked. When done, take what you want and cover in jalfrezi sauce. Hardest part is cleaning the pan, if you use cast iron like I do.

Made this little snack and was very happy with it.

Oats, cashews, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, peanuts combined with a little bit of butter and honey.

    Energy blast granola bar.

Looks yummy. You bake it, or just mix the ingredients?

Mix and bake. Was my first attempt at it, not bad but don't see why I would do that vs bagging those as they sit.

My quick "simple" meal is just throwing some salmon on a pan w/skin and doing a nice crunchy skin salmon w/salad and light carbs after workout. Only time consuming element is making sure to salt the skin a bit beforehand (and wipe off) to pull away excess moisture and get the skin to crisp.

An oddball meal that I concocted one day on a whim / dare, was canned tuna with lower fat greek yogurt (***e). Sounds awful but in the right ratio, actually tastes a bit like tuna salad. Difference is that you can easily down massive amounts of protein and healthy fats in a very quick meal, great for post workout.

Stumbled onto something this morning. I accidentally started pouring orange juice on a couple of raw eggs I was getting ready to turn into an omelet for my little girl. Set them aside and started over, but a little while ago went ahead and whipped them up and I loved them. Orange eggs. Delicious. I'll do this on purpose again sometime and try with a dash of cinnamon.

Since this is the healthy recipe thread, I should qualify that it was organic orange juice over local, farm fresh eggs :D

Interesting. That is not a combo I would thought would work. Toss in some hash browns, serve on an English Muffin, & you got a Mickie D's breakfast there! 😃

    Out of salad dressing?

Use salsa. I used a tomatillo/avacado salsa. It was great.

Never tried this untul today, but here's a good way to make sure you get those extra greens in for the day. Just buy the already chopped broccoli from the frozen section, chop it up a little bit more and then put it in towards the end of the cooking process of whatever protein you're cooking.

Also a good way to sneak it in for kids thst are difficult.

I'd guess spinach, green peppers, and celery in egg whites, but don't know.

    All the best,

Hmmmm - I got to try this tonight. Loads of protein AND some greens, easy to make, and can be stored in the fridge for a day or so......Thanks for sharing.

It's great because you can add what you want and as much as you want. I wanted to do it in a meatloaf pan, but imagined getting it cooked thoroughly may be a problem.

I did it at 350 for right around 35 minutes. I started watching it around 12 minuts and kept adjusting the time accordingly.
