I was going to defer a bit longer because I'd only seen the $450+ too, ones until I saw this. Now I'm going to order it, even if takes me a while to get around to installing it. Thanks Dominick!
I just got one from that outfit, they do a lot of other stuff for good prices inc the flexy hose set for the F1 gearbox at about €600 which is a fraction of the ferrari price
The accumulator is a magneti marelli part, used by many Alfa Romeo. The part no is. alfa romeo 71751195 Can be found for $160.
I think my accumulator [Original 2007] is getting tired, no shifting issues or malfunction just more frequent pump cycles..my actuator system including sensors were replaced by ferrari prior to purchase so that should be OK.. Annual F1 service was routinely performed. Question: What is the Normal acceptable pump cycles with Key on/ Eng off 1-N-1 ? Key on/ No gear request pump cycles=? Thanks in Advance.!!
Key on/ Eng off 8 to ten minutes off ..4 to 5 sec on 1-N-1 ? Three shifts before pump cycle Key on/ No gear request pump cycles=? Anything over 2 3 mins off .. Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Dominick you just answered my question: I think my accumulator is tired based on your feedback..I will be placing a accumulator order from Sequparts.. Thank You for your continued support to FChat.!!!
Call me to discuss the best way to install .. i try to make it so you don't need to bleed anything ..the hardest part is removing it ..use the the three prong oil filter wrench i suggested on some other thread Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
When doing the "key on" test make sure your battery is completely charged. The pump will run but not at the speed it should if the battery is low.
Just finished replacing the ORIGINALY equipped 2007 accumulator from my vehicle which has around 17K, I can see a significant improvement in regards to pump cycle times..for the record there was zero issues with drivability or symptoms just noticed what I perceived as more frequent pump cycles while driving. During my repairs I did reach out to Dominick [flash32] to get a experienced perspective how a healthy F1 system should behave..after speaking with Dominick I realized he had a deep wealth of experience this conversation led to me to investigating my shift/gear engagement grid..this will give you a perspective of actuator positioning both mechanically and electrically..although it is tedious and time consuming after I plotted a grid for documentation reference my diagnostic knowledge grew deeper.. I want to personally Thank Dominick for his passion and contribution to Fchat.!
Thanks for the kind words Always my pleasure to help in any way i can Dominick Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Dear reader, When Reading the excellent analysis above I can conclude that I have to replacl my accumulator (F430 F1). Is it indeed posssible to replacl it without bleeding the system? Can any one guide me how to replacl it without bleeding? Thanks, Jan
I also modified and tuned the pis on my car using a thinkdiag dongle that Dominick recommended and the shifts are wayyy better and quicker. My pis was around 5mm.. I got to 4.2 in the end. Anything lower and it will buckle on takeoff and upshifts. That thinkdiag can be used to bleed f1 if needed.. I did not need to after changing accumulator though.
Do you by any chance have a link to that thinkdiag you have exactly? and is it a subscription service?

Great thread and excellent technical advice. I’m posting a screenshot from my thinkdiag showing my f1 hydraulic pressure so you can see a sample report that would seem to support the thesis that the accumulator is shot. The pump cycles every 50 seconds with ignition on, engine off. I’ll replace the accumulator to see if that fixes the cycle times. 2003 360 with 37k miles btw. How many seconds does it run for ..use a stop watch That is also key Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Short run times of less than 4 second is also indictive of a bad accumulator Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Thank you for the confirmation Dominick. I enjoy reading your analysis of these issues! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
