I wish! But I'm back at the office in Austin. We were only there for a little over a week.

Anyone know if there's going to be any activity at TMT this Sunday? A friend went this Sunday gone and there wasn't a huge turnout. HKO says it's going to rain.

Not a good turnout apparently, but an F40 was there!

Yes, sold off from an insolvent Belgian dealer I think. Always good to see them around. LHD though. DM18 is your F40 a left-hooker or are you one of the few to have an RHD version?

    I sold my F40 already and it was a proper F40 - i.e. LHD

Would it not most probably be from the now famous deal when Dutchman, Frits Kroymans, dealership went bust late 2009, early 2010? Apparently there were about 21 classic Ferraris including a 250GTO with wrong engine. Apparently Tom Price a dealer in California who already had a better 250 GTO (if there is such a thing), reputedly sold his own GTO for about the same amount as he bought all 21 cars and then sold the rest off. Great deal.
I wonder if that F40 was included in the sell off? I dont think many of them were shipped to USA and were sold straight out of Holland.

The F40 is a Kroymans car was sold to a dealer a year or two prior to the sell off. The dealer brought the car to HK and put it for sale. The present owner bought it from the dealer via IMSS

Thanks for the clarification. That must have been the one in the IMSS showroom about 2-3 years ago.

Just out of curiosity, can cars like that F40 (ie T-Plate) be stored privately? or do they have to be kept by the dealer? o_O

You mean car being stored in a warehouse or something sort in HK? I believe as long as you're not on the public road, then you don't HAVE to license the car hence paying tax. Question is how do you GET to your storage point...

Correct re storage. There is no problem with moving an F40. It is 20 years old and can move on a classic car movement permit

I was thinking more private garage (eg residential carpark or garage in a house) and bringing it out for occasional use aka SMD. Would that work?

Thanks. Totally skipped my mind that F40 is that old. What a timeless classic.

Nah! More of a measure of how fast time flies by these days (and as we get older!).
Yet still a timeless classic. Not me....the F40!

Thought you might like to know there have been a few recent arrivals in HK. Someone spotted two Veyrons on SPS trucks coming from the airport one of which was (I think) a Bleu Centenaire, an Aston One-77 and most recently a Koeniggsegg Agera was spotted again coming from the airport. Keep your eyes peeled!

can you give a bit more hint pls? Did you see a 458 wannabe which turns out to be a 355? I must admit I'll pretty shocked if there're already 458 body kits to be bolt onto a 355...

That's right. Self combustion while driving on the Southside of the island. It always makes headlines. Ferrari burns! It's too hot for everybody :)

I had breakfast that morning at Big Wave Bay and saw the remains being swept off the road and the carcass on a flatbed. It was a sad sight. Imagine the poor owner heading out for a morning blaaaaht on a great day with his pals and the day ending like that. Feel sorry for him

Feel bad for the owner...tough day.

Always keep an extinguisher in each of my cars, just in case. Cheap insurance.
