Will do for sure. And thanks for the compliment Cheers. Thank you for the info I will definitely swing by for a look. And I am very familiar with the MC12 lol another car enthusiast friend of mine owns one with a $250 k upgrade. This is me with his car after I played a joke on him when we hit up our Casino. I placed a for sale sign on his car and another on the Enzo right in front of the Casino people were asking how they could win them ha ha ha. There is also a Ferrari Store in the Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki that has some nice (meaning pricy) Ferrari licensed products like t-shirts, caps, key chains, kids stuff. etc. that you could check out.
Which Outrigger are you staying at? There are at least a half dozen Outrigger Hotels in Waikiki. You could go to Google Earth and type in "Waikiki Ferrari Store" or go to Google Maps and type in "Waikiki Ferrari Store" for a street view. http://maps.google.com/ Check it out!
You mean rentals? if so you can't beat those three wheeled convertible go kart type cars, although I wouldn't be caught dead in one at the far end of the main ave bordering Waikiki there was a place renting Porsche Carrera and new Vettes.
The large care hire companies that you would go to to rent a "normal" car are based at or near the airport. I believe that they all provide some kind of shuttle service for both arrivals and departures. I have never rented a car here so I can't offer any personal insight, but I think that any of the major companies would be OK. The choice might come down to price and what cars are available. Some internet research would be in order. Some hotels may provide a room and rental car package. One thing that you might want to look into is the cost of parking at your hotel. I have heard complaints about the amount that the hotel charges for parking in their garages.
The parent company of the local Ferrari/Maserati/Lamborghini/Bentley/Lotus dealer has Mazdas & Chevys for daily or weekly rental at a location by the airport and will shuttle you to and from same. Email the manager at [email protected] and say something like "I'm on a budget" and need... If they don't have too many cars reserved for when you want one, you can probably get a good price on a nice car or SUV. Also, the company's exotic car division, www.jnexotics.com, rents Bentleys, Lotus and Maseratis. No deals there! Have fun.
Thanks for the advice guys. I only wanted a cheap rental car to take on a 1-day drive around the island (Oahu). I'm covered for transfers to and from Honolulu airport to the hotel we are staying at in Waikiki. I thought there may have been a cheap rental car company close to the Waikiki hotel area.
There is, you can rent small compact on Waikiki, just ask your concierge for neares location. Warning though the driving there in Waikiki is worse than L.A, bumper to bumper all day long.
I wouldnt worry about the traffic, you'll be on vacation. You can avoid the heavy stuff easily by traveling off peak hours. The worst times to be trying to get around the busy areas are Mon - Fri 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM and then around lunch there can be lots of cars trying to get around, manageable but expected. Late afternoon when everyone is trying to get home can be deadly depending on where you are going. Common sense approach should be used. If you hit heavy traffic outside the obvious times there is probably a problem and you will find that the other drivers will normally be curteous and allow you to change lanes easily and get where you are going which is contrary to places like Los Angeles. Sunday afternoons during nice weather can land you in a lot of traffic while traveling the perimiter in certain areas. North shore can be awful if there are large waves predicted and posted all over the news, not likely during your summer visit though.
