I got half way through and could not take anymore. These YouTube junkies are more concerned about making YT videos than cars. /yawn/
I like Hoovie. He's my kind of car nerd, only more so. The only thing he's done so far that I find really questionable is burying his Chrysler Town & Country convertible. I would never bury a car, but then, I would never have bought that Chrysler in the first place. I am looking forward to seeing his adventures with the F355, and I hope the trouble with the car isn't serious. If I'm not mistaken, it used to belong to a fellow who posted about it here. (How many F355s can there be in Wichita, Kansas?)
He would have been worth watching if he worked on it himself, just to see if he could do it on not. I mean were talking about a coolant leak big deal. Maybe I need to video myself working on my car and put it on youtube.
it was entertaining... always like to see other peoples experiences.. hope he loads a part two... on that note, I do recognise that car in other random vids.. I believe the exhaust he mentions is a capristo. I believe this could be the car..
The shop needs a major service...looks like it’s about to crack in half. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I watched the whole thing and they didnt show the problem. Probably one of the hoses at the expansion tank?? I guess I will never know. Probably a well bought car, with a known problem, and a little you tube drama.
There will be more to come. Hoovie's Garage is a series. He tries to find the cheapest car for sale of a given type and lets you follow him through all the issues he has fixed and the upgrades he does.
But he takes it to a shop to have all the work done? What fun is that? I guess it is like any other car show, the ones that show a lot of wrenching and up going the drama route after a season or two. Graveyard cars is about the only one I can think of that did the opposite. A friend of mines brother used to do one of those shows, and he said they had a team of mechanics in the background doing all the work.
I agree with phrogs and can't watch this guy unless he actually worked on his own car. Tavarish is the only car YouTuber I watch because he actually does it himself and makes it informative for viewers. The rest are hard to watch and hit or miss (usually miss). Edit: I forgot to add I do watch B is for Build and started with his last project, the E60 M5. His prior stuff looks pretty decent, but the M5 got me hooked.
So the guy who flippantly offered $10k more than his NSX instead of taking the offered $5k more, is now acting freaked out about a $500 rubber hose repair that he could probably do himself? Jeez. At least he’s slightly better than DeMuro. I watched though because I was really curious what the issue was.
I thought he was more entertaining than DeMuro. Less hyperbole, less giggling. I especially like the part where the guy was on the floor praying as the car was going up on the lift.
The point of these videos is to make money. There are some 355 videos on YouTube that are meant to be informative. They have a small fraction of the views this guy is getting. I take them for what they are.... entertainment.
Right. Everyone's taste varies. This doesn't entertain me, it annoys me. It annoys me because it give the 355 a bad name, not because of the car, but because many knuckle heads that wrongfully work on them. At least these guys lifted the car ok. I was waiting to see a massive fail in that area. I get my entertainment from music and comedy - not pointless You Tube videos. Am I being critical? You bet
This guy is the biggest idiot I've ever met. He doesn't deserve the car. This guy is also me... Thanks for watching! Glad my Ferrari chat account still works!
I wonder if the Wizard knows enough about the Ferrari to check the oil level with the engine running, or will the next video be "My Cheap Ferrari went up in smoke"?
It would be appreciated if repair and maintenance was shown the smart and economical way in which it can be performed, rather than the JR Garage-style rubbish shooting for cheap sensationalism. Hope the car treats you well, they are fantastic machines.
