Looks great! What year is it? Where did you get those rear lovers (by the fuel cap)?

 

Stenley, did you have any issues with emissions and your Tubi exhaust? I'm in Upland and so far so good, but my 89 is all stock.

 

Those are GTB louvers.

It’s an ‘87.

Those aren’t GTB louvers, they aren’t interchangeable between GTB and GTS. The attachment points are different. They’re GTS louvers that had most of the slats cut out then sanded and painted. I always preferred the lines of the GTB and my top had already been sanded and painted when I bought the car so modifying the louvers was a no brainer.

@GrigioGuy had his done as well. The pic he posted is likely the day he bought it, it’s changed a little since then

I thought the point of the louvres was to give some additional structural rigidity to the GTS? So don't be surprised if your car folds in half when you go over a speed bump ;-)

 

It doesn’t fold, it’s more of an accordion action….

I see your mad search skillz haven’t waned! That thread reminded me that somewhere I still have my original louvers…..

 

Great question, Kent. I don’t need to resmog until October so we’ll see. I will say everything I’ve read says it shouldn’t be a problem. My mechanic also says it should pass. Note it still has the factory cats.

I own mine since almost 26 years (August 1996). One picture from the first weekend I had the car. The second picture from last year, which shows me with the car the first time after my old man's disease ( heart attack ).
