Can anyone tell me how many Mondial 3.2 Coupes were imported 1985-1989? I'm especially interested to know how many 1989 Mondial 3.2 Coupes were imported into the US.

    Also--about anti-lock brakes:

Was ABS standard on the 1989 Mondial 3.2 like on the 1989 328? I know ABS was an option before that, but in what model years was it an option?

I suppose the Mondial 3.2 had the various updates for model year 1989 that the 328 had. Am I correct?

My searches did not find these answers :D

Also: please post PICS of your Mondial 3.2 Coupes! The pics on the archives don't work due to the F-Chat outage :(

As far as I know, there were no 1989 3.2 coupes. They were all Mondial t's with the 348 engine.

Oh ok. I figured there were 1989 Mondial 3.2 Coupes since there were 1989 328s...

    Any numbers or other information?

i think there were only 40 us spec 89 coupes (all with the 348 engine, the squared side intakes and the revamped interior).

Yup you're right, I also heard only 40 T coupes for the US market. I've done my Mondial T Coupe research already :)

I'm trying to research the 3.2 Coupes now... :D

I don't think ABS was ever an "option" on the 328...it just became standard at some point between the 88 and 89 model years.

ABS was an option in 1987 and was standardized in 1988.

As you probably already know, there were only 987 Mondial 3.2 coupes available worldwide, with serial number range 59165 - 79552. Will try to hunt down the number of US versions. Somewhat obscure and reclusive FChatter Carbon McCoy (NNO) may have access to that info at Ferrari Market Letter.

In the US there were no 328's with ABS until the 89 model year when they were standard. I understand they were optional in Europe beginning about vin# 76600.

All 89 Mondials were T types.

ABS was at least available if not standard on 88 Mondials.

A good estimate on 3.2 coupes in the US around 100. Coupes were not popular here.

We spent some time in Maranello this past October. I asked one of the factory reps about production numbers for the '89 Mondial t coupe. She said she did not know the actual number off hand but did not believe many were produced and that she would check the appropriate records and let us know. She got back with us a couple of days later and said that a total of 42 U.S. spec coupes were produced.

Don't know of ABS was standard or an option but our has ABS both front and rear. Engine is a 3.4.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    John
