Knowing that the marketplace is softening, that near-term conditions are deteriorating (economy, possible recession) and that asking prices are now just that (asking prices), and based on your experience buying F cars, how much room should one currently get in terms of price negotiation for the purchase of the following models at the following prices at an official F dealer? I can pay in cash. Generally speaking, 5% price reduction for example or more?

    FF 2012 or 2013: $175,000 - $170,000 - $165,000

With electric encroaching from all directions it’s the reason I feel prices may hold on the last of Italian ICE. Not to mention digital interiors.
But you are correct their seems to be a slight uptick in overall inventory. However I see actually less 812 for sale right now compared to 12 months ago. F12 likely same?

Dealers prefer you finance as they make a little extra on the loan origination...

There are very few cars at F dealers (2014-2016 models, over my budget) but more 2012-2013 cars are available from private dealers and individuals. Prices have been softening more in that segment (private dealers + individuals) and seeing price reductions from asking prices these past months (even on Fchat). I’m going to extend my search to these private parties too (knowing that I will always have a PPI done).

It may be that the deteriorating market conditions in the short-term (economy, …) prove to be a good entry point for a purchase: it seems that with electric vehicles increasing their overall market share, prices may hold (and increase) long-term for a NA V12 FF that has already been heavily depreciated.

Not quite the same market, in the UK I simply paid asking price for my 2014 FF. I'd been waiting a long time for a spec that I wanted to come available.

There are only just over 200 in total here so I'm shopping in a small market to start with. It was a consignment sale with a specialist and I paid for a PPI at a Ferrari dealer.

I bought the best I could that I liked even though it has cosmetic flaws. I'm addressing those as I go.

I've bought it to drive though, it's not going to sit in a garage collecting dust and after a little over a month I've already put 1500 miles on it.

If you like it, buy it. Don't worry about what you think it's worth, are you overpaying etc. It is a V12 Ferrari and it is a bargain IMO. I paid pretty much the same price as a new RS6 with options.

    V12 Ferrari or RS6...wasn't a hard choice.

    my 0.02 cents

v12 FF is an insane value for what you get. This time next year inflation will be double digits in US. Ferrari only built about 2,300 of them. The UK has serious issues with debt, energy and supply channels. VW is hoarding windshields. I'd be surprised if the new models don't get pushed back or they don't make anywhere close to the number they are stating. If the new suv is 400k then easy to say that FF should be 200k since it's basically the same but will age better longer because its more mechanical. When less new Ferraris being built people waiting will turn to used.

great post. I'm actually going through this exercise myself. As I am going financing, the finance company reminded me that this car will never be a collectible and they do expect prices to drop in the future. What I don't think they understand is the desire to have a v12 car like this for family purposes. The PS will change this.

Please take a look at this thread I did, I believe in post #56 I talk about the different cars I have seen and the negotiating that has taken place. The dealers put a price out there but many of these cars aren't selling as they are in terrible condition for the premium price they are asking. One thing would be if the price equaled the condition of the car but I have found that 99% of them don't.

Thank you, the link you sent and post #56 are very interesting (examples…).

Update: enlarging my search to non F dealers too (I see cars sold by dealerships from major brands + from known exotic dealers + individuals).

As long as a PPI is done, does it matter if the car is sold by a Mercedes dealership for example or an individual compared to an F dealer (for a car that is not certified)? Furthermore, non F dealers tend to be more flexible.

Most FFs sold by F dealers are not certified, and the rare ones are too recent for me (over my budget). However, I see a number of cars from other dealerships and private that would appeal to me on paper, while at the same time being about 10%/15% less expensive (asking prices) than F dealers with non-certified models. Obviously I only want a model that has the right colors and options for me.

Is there a website or something that shows what the current average price is based on year, mile, condition and warranty? Seems to me the average for a nice example is creeping up slowly and around 180k. Does that sound about right?

Not at all. So as you saw from the post, the 2014 loaded with options is $185 with CPO and only 3400 miles. I think a good example of with 23000 miles at 2014 and newer with cop should be in the $150's. The merit partners that went for $145 had a 1 year power 15 warranty. Now you can add a power 15 warranty to any car, looking at around $8500 to do this. Or you can get one from Lasalle for mush less.

2013 w 5500mi. Orig sticker $380k. Asking $180k. Settled at $165k, but also got owner to pay for service and parts @$5k. Debating 1 yr. power train warranty at $6500, but financially not worth it: PTU replace at $15k x 10%(?) probability = $1500.

Car has new Michelin PS. Car coming up to Boston -- quandary about snow (e.g. Sottozero II) vs Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons. Have other 4wd -- but that video on the ski slope is exciting. I guess what I'm really asking is, how much do you give up on dry road w/Sottos vs a/s?

Congratulations! Enjoy in good health. The price is right and lower than the asking price (thread).

Yes, if you keep the car 7 years for example, the warranty would cost $45,500 but major potential issues would be the PTU for $10,000/15,000 and DCT for $10,000. Better to self-insured, which is what I will do out of warranty (my repair/maintenance budget is $5,000 a year and would keep the car about 10 years).

To follow up on my doom and gloom post #8 and to partially back up my nonsense rant

I don't believe people have fully grasped the impact that the energy crises will have on car manufacturing. What has already been built will increase in value and inflation will add even more to that. Anything new will be much more expensive then the initial quoted price. We are still approx 8 months out from the first Ferrari SUVs rolling off the line. Do you think the situation is going to get better? I wouldn't be surprised if base price on that SUV goes up 80k-100k.

So, I still hold the opinion that the FF/Lusso is an insane value right now and going into the future. But... that's just like my opinion, man.
