My father gave me $10k, we had a friend who exported cars so I used his license and at first I went to auctions buying two cars at a time. I was told what the buyers were looking for so all I did was locate the cars and have someone bid on them for me, I was sixteen. From there ship 'em and make a really nice fat profit in less than two weeks. It was a nice "hobby", but all I was heading for in my young head was a Ferrari on the horizon and that was the reason why I was doing all this for. Then some years later the car business was no more, some corrupted politicians raised the import taxes and were specially hurting the older cars that I was selling, but I had enough in the bank so I bought the 1986 328GTS cash. I was the second owner with 7k miles, the first owner was a pilot and I bought from Shelton Ferrari in Fort Lauderdale. The salesman was Steve Delong. The color combination was white with tan interior and blue dash and door handles. The 328gts logo was in gold.
I was 26 and it was a 1984 308 4V. I bought it new from Bob Sharp Ferrari in Conn. and was fortunate enough to have had a demo drive with Stan Nowak. I've owned a 328, Mondial T Cab, 550, 430 spider and now own a '73 Daytona but that first one was a special experience that I'll never forget.
