    Hi,

    is it possible to determine if a 348 engine is the 300 bhp or the 320 bhp type,
    just by examine the outside?

    The silver coated plenum chamber is larger on the 320 BHP.

    Ok, but it is difficult to compare when you only have one engine to look at ;-)
    Anyone who has some pictures/dimensions?

    Couldn't the engine no (stamped on the engine) be a guide? Put up the engine no here and I'm sure our members can verify it one way or the other.

    the engine type should be 119H for 320 HP. For 300 HP the type is 119G or below. You find the plate with the engine type near the oil filter.
