but, I was wondering what you ferrari and other exotic car owners do for a living? I mean of course I will do all that I can to earn the money to be able to buy an exotic car but if I don't make it financially will I still be able to own a ferrari, lambo etc. So, is it only rich people that own these cars or is it possible for the average Joe to drive and own one of thse beautiful vehicles?

    Cheers

let me rephrase the question. how many of you can afford any car and money is no object? Also, which car would you want the most? And, if you dont like my questions, plz dont answer. Signing off

I just a poor schmuck trying to buy my first Ferrari and pissing my pants with the high maintenance costs. If I could keep my wife out of the stores I could probably buy a 430 coupe but then she would divorce me and probably get whatever money I do have. My advice would be to stay single, Don't spend money on women, drinking or drugs. Live like a hermit and save all you're money and buy a F-car and leave happily ever after.

Your post is interesting. You say 'I will do whatever it takes' then you say 'if I fail'. People don't really fail, they just give up. Even if one venture doesn't go as expected you try again until it does.

If you consider failure to be an option you will have a very hard time succeeding.

I have no net worth, I suck when it comes to saving. Own a saab 9-3 vector and an apartment in Stockholm, Sweden. Making tons of money is not as easy here in Europe compared to the US. I work as a salesperson at Elan IT, a Manpower company and we sell IT-outsourcing solutions. Make about $5400 a month. And no, I dont own a jet. But I do love ferraris and thats why I'm here asking all sort of crazy questions to learn more and maybe be that much closer to someday owning one.

    You're up Darth :)

Making money in Sweden is hard to do? Do a search for Nasharty. He lives in Sweden if I am not mistaken, is in his 20's and he and his business partner drive 430s, a Carrera GT, and a new Veyron. Ask him how to do it.

    so true
as perhaps the wisest of all women and men for that matter said it best

that defeat is often a temporary condition however giving up is what makes it permanent and of course that is your
    choice.

The guy who wants it the most, will get it. That's about all there is to it, go to school, bust your ass, work hard, and it will happen.

Don't worry about what anyone says, nobody here is going to come right out and say what they do to make money, the question has been asked a million times and nobody is ever willing to share, and besides, what works for one person may not work for you, so you have to just do what it takes on your own and one of these days you will get it.

For the record, I've had people tell me everything from "hope you get lucky" to "stay in school and work hard" so you really just have to make it happen on your own and don't let anyone get you down.

I would suggest that is a bit high... No data to back me up. I suspect that if you did see that number it referred to those who purchased "New" ferraris. This I think could be accurate. Again, no data... just gestalt.

Some owners are able to spend money on a new Ferrari and not care at all. Some of us are just average joe's who make sacrifices in other parts of our lives to afford these cars. Any CPA would have told me not to purchase my Maserati Spyder but I did, I made sacrifices in some areas of my life to be able to afford the car.

There's no secret, just keep working hard, be smart financially and eventually you'll have one in your driveway. As far as changing occupations, alot of F-car owners are in some type of business related field, there is no magical business, it doesn't matter what you do, it's how good you are what you do. Whether you sell houses, cars, flowers, office supplies, or offer some type of service you can make enough money to purchase an F-car. You just need to be at the top of your industry if it's competetive.

Not something I can put into words, just keep trying and everything works out in the end.

Yea I actually edited it out of the post because it's a bit off topic, and I can't prove it 100%, it is just something I read a while back, and there are certainly owners worth less, and plenty worth more I'm sure. That was just an average figure I came across a while ago, couldn't even tell you where though....

I am from Switzerland and I have never even been to Sweden. ;)
I am 25. And the guy who you're referring to as my business partner is just my close friend (more of a brother). We don't work together at all by the way.

Making money in Sweden is near impossible with all the regulations and taxes imposed. It is really crazy out there.

Switzerland, Sweden, aren't they all the same ? ;-) At least, they both begin with "S".

Even if you make good money in Sweden, the *insane* cost of living will quickly send you to an institution. I visited Stockholm a few times in the late 80s, and even then a beer in a nice bar like Cafe Opera was around $10.
