Hey guys, Made a slight change to my Mondial t interior trimmings. I have removed the "tan" carpets, and have replaced them with "Prugna" carpets. I have been told that "it really richen's the interior up." Here are before & after photos:
Ditto -- well done and stunningly attractive. If you had any apprehension about making the change, forget about it -- you added value, and every time you get in you can enjoy it! Did you have a wide color choice available? Who was the supplier? Was it a pre-fabbed "kit"?
You need one of those Hugh Hefner smoking jackets to sit in there!! Looks bloody fantastic - love it. Cheers Kevin
You did the right thing, now you own a "unique" kind of car, like nobody else has in the world. To be proud of. So, I hope you dont change the external color.... Greetings Guido
Yes, thank you. I like it too. I have a gent here in town that works on Maserati interiors for the Concours set nationally. He did me a favor because he is a big fan of this car. He was the one who suggested the carpet color. He had many choices, but this color was "the one." He used my factory rugs as the pattern - so it would be exact. I really appreciate your input one & all.
It already looked good before but the new colour is an additional step forward. Was it difficult to remove the factory rugs?
Looks great! What is the exterior color? I have Fiorano Rosso exterior, and thinking to do what you did later after the current carpet gets too dirty. Your friend basically made custom made carpet for you, right? May I ask what I should expect when I do this?
You guys are too kind. My car color is Prugna Metallic (Ruby) with Creama interior. The new carpet set is Prugna with black welt. The rugs were actually pretty simple to remove. It was messy however, as the old glue is still sticky under the old carpet. To remove I did not even have to pull out the front seats. It all came out around them. I did have to remove the rear seats, but it was not difficult. The center forward part of the console is carpeted & was the most time consuming for removal. Going back together is nice clean work. I went slow (wanted to get it smooth), removed the front seats etc., so it took a few hours. Cost on a retail carpet set is somewhere under $1000.00. My complete set done professionally was under $700.00. This is what this local guy does for a living, and he is a past employee of mine, so he may have cut me some slack on the price (or maybe not! ) He tells me that he has about a years worth of work to do for several Maserati clients. He must be quite popular. I contacted some other National interior vendor 1st, but they did not have the patterns for a Mondial t. They said "send us your patterns & we will make you a kit." But... No discount for me providing the patterns. I asked, but they did not see it my way. That is okay though, as my local guy is a true artist, and he did it all in about a week. I will send him your complements & personally thank him again.
